Trusting God doesn't mean pretending we're okay. Sometimes the most faithful response is to honestly pour out our hearts before Him.

Lament is a biblical practice that gives us words when we're carrying grief, trauma, disappointment, or unanswered questions. It reminds us that God welcomes our honesty and meets us in our pain.

If you're looking for a simple way to begin, explore our free How to Lament resource. It offers practical guidance to help you bring your pain to God with honesty and hope: https://www.traumahealingbasics.org/how-to-lament

Life can be really difficult and we can experience hard things that cause deep suffering. That deep suffering is what we call trauma; it's a wound of the heart and mind that takes a long time to heal. And trauma affects everyone differently. Yet healing is possible. 🌱💙 God feels our pain with us and want ot help us heal.

In our recognizing trauma video, we provide some suggestions for recognizing trauma in yourself, or in those around you. To learn more, head over to 👉 https://www.traumahealingbasics.org/recognizing-trauma for the full video.

đź’™ Those who spend their lives caring for others also need care.

Whether you're a trauma healing facilitator, ministry leader, counselor, or simply someone who walks alongside people in pain, the emotional and spiritual weight of caring for others can take a toll. Adapted from Dr. Heather Evans, LCSW plenary session at our Global Community of Practice gathering, this interactive reflection invites us to tend to our own hearts—an essential part of sustaining our callings and continuing to care well for others.

Take a few moments to be refreshed. Read the blog here: https://traumahealinginstitute.org/blog/heather-evans-self-and-soul-care

Back-to-school season isn’t just about new backpacks and class schedules—it’s also a time to check in on emotional well-being. 💙📚

As students head back to school, many are navigating stress, big emotions, and new challenges. Parents and caregivers are, too.

Reconnect is a free download that offers five simple, practical practices to help young people recognize their emotions, calm their bodies, and build resilience during overwhelming moments. There’s also a companion Bible reading plan designed to encourage and equip parents as they support their teens. https://traumahealinginstitute.org/reconnect

This school year, let’s make emotional and spiritual well-being part of every back-to-school checklist.

Join us in celebrating the launch of the Healing Hearts Club in the Dominican Republic! 🎉

Last month 72 children from an under-served neighborhood in Santiago de los Caballeros attended a camp hosted by Medical Ambassadors International and the Trauma Healing Institute. The kids learned about trauma healing, cultivated space for hope, growth, and restoration!

Round of applause for the 15 newly trained Children's Trauma Healing Facilitators who can form all over Latin America and the Caribbean. 👏🎓

The Bible Society of Slovenia's Trauma Healing division, the Healing Ward's own Petra Rot said it best: "A great discovery for me was that healing doesn't only happen between me and God, but also through the Christian community, through people who listen, share their pain, pray for one another, and walk together encouraging each other. That changed me deeply as I truly experienced what the church is meant to be, a community of Christ's disciples walking together in their suffering, trials, and faith."

🌱🙏✨

"To sum up, I see how God first healed my own heart and then invited me to help others on their journeys. This is the beauty of the [Trauma Healing]; when ordinary people say yes to God's call, He can transform not only individual lives, but also families, parishes, and entire communities."

This week, we are honored to participate in the SIGNIS - World Catholic Association for Communication World Congress 2026 in Kigali, Rwanda, bringing together more than 300 Catholic bishops, communicators, and media leaders from over 100 countries.

THI is represented by Africa Regional Coordinator Nahayo Olivier
and Director of Global Partnerships, Frederick Barasa, along with an incredible team of Trauma Healing facilitators from Burundi, Senegal, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, and Sri Lanka. Together, they are sharing how the Church can respond to trauma with hope, healing, and the love of Christ.

We're also deeply grateful to The Bible Society of Rwanda for their generous partnership, providing our booth and resources in many of the languages we publish.

Please join us in praying for our team as they equip Church leaders from around the world to bring healing to individuals and communities affected by trauma.
