It was an honor to spend time with Canton Philadelphia #1 of the Patriarchs Militant, Independent Order of Odd Fellows. The dedication, discipline, and respect for tradition displayed by the Chevaliers are a proud reflection of Odd Fellowship.
The Patriarchs Militant is the uniformed and highest branch of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Its roots grew from the uniformed movement among Encampment members, including Civil War veterans, and it was formally established as a separate branch. Local units are known as Cantons, and members are called Chevaliers.
For generations, Cantons have brought the principles of Friendship, Love and Truth into public view through ceremonial duties, honor guards, memorial services, parades, community service, and other solemn occasions. The tradition emphasizes honor, duty, discipline, chivalry, and service to humanity.
Proud to support and recognize Canton Philadelphia #1 and the Chevaliers who continue this distinguished tradition of Odd Fellowship.
