Continue to rest peacefully Kada. You will never be forgotten 😞💔

On October 4th, Kada Scott went missing from her job in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia. Kada began her normal overnight shift as a caregiver at a senior living facility, but never made it home the following morning. Philadelphia Police Detectives worked around the clock to locate the missing woman in the two weeks following her disappearance. The investigation led them to believe that Kada was abducted shortly after arriving to work and taken to an area near the Awbury Arboretum in the Germantown section of the city. After days of searching the 55-acre property, which included utilizing K9 teams, drones, crime scene technicians and hundreds of police recruits conducting searches on foot, an anonymous tip led investigators to an area behind a nearby vacant school. On October 18th, 14-days after she was abducted, Kada’s body was located in a densely wooded area, buried inside of a shallow grave.

The suspect responsible for this crime turned himself in to police as the search for Kada was still active. He has since been charged with murder, kidnapping and several other offenses. The male was identified as having been arrested earlier this year for another abduction. While that case involved video evidence and severe allegations, including strangulation, it was dropped when the victim and a key witness never showed up in court. Prosecutors have since been refiled those charges following Kada’s murder.

Kada Scott was remembered for her quiet strength, kindness, courtesy, and a strong sense of purpose. She was beautiful, bubbly and bold with goals that she was determined to accomplish. Kada’s focus on her mission was evident throughout the four years she spent proudly earning a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts & Sciences from Penn State University, as well as her time at Eastern Academy Charter School. Her love of fashion resonated through her incredibly detailed sketches of vibrant dresses and outfits. Kada Scott was just 23-years old.

Loved ones are mourning a father of three who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bike in Philadelphia’s Port Richmond neighborhood.

On Sunday, April 12, around 8:10 p.m., 43-year-old Glenn Richard Colville Jr. was riding his mountain bike on Lehigh and Aramingo avenues when he was struck by a car that fled the scene.

A witness rushed to Colville’s side to try and save him but he was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after. Police said the same witness spotted the license plate of the hit-and-run vehicle which was spotted at a laundromat on Aramingo Avenue and Cambria Street. The witness also said they spotted a group of young people get out of the car and flee the scene on foot.

Police said a 21-year-old woman – who investigators believe is the daughter of the owner of the hit-and-run vehicle – was taken into custody as a person of interest. Several days after the crash, however, no one has been arrested or charged in connection to the incident.

Colville’s mother, Denise Tyson, told NBC10 she’s been in contact with detectives and continues to search for answers.

“They have no evidence,” Tyson said. “I said, ‘What do you mean, you have no evidence? You have two eyewitnesses.' There’s one who stayed there with him and they’re acting like it’s nothing.”

As the investigation continues, Colville’s family is coping with the loss.

“I just want justice served for my brother’s life,” Colville’s sister, Shannon Colville, told NBC10. “He was taken from me. He was taken from a lot of people. I’m not going to be OK. I don’t know how to do this.”

Parents of Murdered Children 💔

Heaven gained them… but your world changed in a way no one can truly measure.

People will say things like “they’re in a better place,” and while that may bring comfort… it doesn’t take away the emptiness you feel here. Because your love didn’t stay behind, it stretched… reaching into a place you can’t physically go. And now you’re left living in between two realities… one where you’re still here, trying to move forward, and one where a piece of your heart already lives with them.

Grief will have you existing in both spaces at once. Smiling on the outside, while silently missing them in ways that words can’t fully explain. Carrying on with life, but never the same version of yourself.

And if you feel that… you’re not broken.
You’re someone who loved deeply… and still does.

What’s one thing you wish you could say to them right now? 🤍
