Caroline LeCount: educator and civil rights activist worked alongside Octavius Catto and William Still. She was engaged to Octavius Catto when he was assassinated rallying for voters rights.

Is her house still standing? These street renamings do not provide permanent preservation.
These second line renamings also are not total renamings, like Cecil B Moore Ave.

Get Philadelphia on the National Park Service US Civil Rights Network. Can you believe that only ONE site in Pennsylvania is on the network - Independence National Park.

Philadelphia played a large role in civil rights and should be on this network. In fact, they are seeking more listings. If you believe you have a property, facility, event, program or more that fits the criteria, there is a simple application process. We know of over 40 things that could be listed.
