So Thankful for today’s package going out to Florida this morning supplied with our beautiful blankets, mementos and incredible creations from our partner Choosing Colette.
Please keep this super brave mother and her precious baby boy and your prayers as they continue to grow and feed, and that this mom has strength, courage and persistence as she braves the NICU.

We recently made the donation of school supplies and as our founder Alexandria Hicks is currently enrolled in school as well. Things have slowed down, but they won’t be stopping! We still have plenty of ideas, events, and Mom’s to help over the rest of the year as always if you know when NICU family in need of support encouragement and generally an ear to hear. We are always available.

🎆 Happy Fourth of July from the NICU 🎆

Today may not look the way you imagined — no backyard barbecues, parades, or fireworks under the stars. Instead, you’re here, beside monitors and feeding tubes, cradling tiny fingers and holding onto hope.

But even in this unexpected place, there’s so much to celebrate.

💙 The strength you’ve found in yourself.
❤️ The courage in your baby’s fight.
🤍 The love that grows deeper every day.

Freedom takes on a new meaning when you’re watching your little one fight for every breath. And while this may not be the celebration you pictured, it’s still one filled with gratitude — for life, for progress, and for every small milestone.

To all the NICU families this Fourth of July — we see you, we honor you, and we’re celebrating right alongside you. 🇺🇸✨

🎒✏️ Back-to-School Supply Drive – Ongoing! 📚🖍️

Project 414 is still collecting school supplies to support families who have children in the NICU and little ones at home preparing for a new school year.

Many of these families are juggling hospital stays and home life, and something as simple as a backpack or a box of crayons can make a world of difference.

We are gratefully accepting:

• Gently used or new backpacks
• Pencils, pens, notebooks, folders
• Markers, glue, scissors, rulers
• Any school supplies you can think of!

✨ Every small donation is a beautiful gift. These families will appreciate it more than you know and we have just one month left until school starts back for the south and that is so much potential to be had. Every box of pencils makes a difference!

Born at 27 precious weeks, Miss Ivy began her journey as a micro preemie and soon after we began our journey of support alongside, where we could, how we could and I personally had the privilege to watch from the background as ivy continued to grow, thrive, and reach every one of her milestones. Ivy then proceeded to graduate from her NICU and go home to her mom and Since being home she hasn’t slowed down since, now 16 months and trying to walk, learning to talk and challenging every odd and obstacle in her way and couldn’t be where she is today without the powerhouse of a mom behind her! we again are so incredibly thankful for the opportunity to be able to have watched this journey from the very beginning and watch this precious girl grow into the miracle she is today.

This purple blanket was sent to her during her stay and has stayed by her side since and we very rarely get updates on our babies or family’s we send out to,but this time we did and we’re SO thankful. For all of our crocheters and those who are involved in our donations. I have explained how important these sets are before for those who recieve them, sometimes in the hardest of cases these sets are all that these babies have the chance to wear or be held in. And even though sweet ivys journey is long over- this piece remained. Your crochet blankets go a long way and mean so much more than you could ever imagine to families like hers and my own. Thank you for giving this family and sweet ivy a keep sake they can look back on and always remember the time that came with it.

This beautiful box is set to go over - 915 - miles to Pennsylvania this weekend

This family is welcoming their precious baby boy into their family and are in need of just a little extra encouragement and thoughts through their stay, It may seem small to some. but It truly makes such a difference for families to know that there is someone out there who sees them, hears them and understands what they may have been going through before or during their stay and that it does truly get better!

Our team is so incredibly thankful for our friends who helped make this possible by “sponsoring” their package and also by helping us to connect with their family through a suprise gifting. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to precious baby (P) and their parents that they can continue to support their precious new addition through the rest of their NICU stay and for great strength, great days and great reports to come!

If you know a NICU family or high risk pregnant parent who is in need of support and encouragement. Please let them know we are here to help in every possible way we can before, during and after their stays!!

After some consideration of how fast school is soon approaching we decided to grab as much as we could in the meantime with the tax free weekend to complete our 2024 with hundreds worth of assorted supplies and items we have gathered to bless these moms and dads with what we could and hopefully take just a little bit of stress off of their finances for their other children who will be returning to school while they are navigating having a split household for the time being. We are continuing to pray for these families that their children thrive both in school, at home and in the NICU and for wonderful days to come. Please pray for safety over all of your children home and hospital.

I want to say a tremendous thank you to those who made this possible, even if it was just a single pack of pencils you have helped make a difference in one families life and your kindness will always carry on moving forward!! This is such a beautiful turnout and as always it overjoyed me to see my daughters former team members and show them updates and thank them repeatedly for the work they have done and continue to do.

- Our next major collection for a specific request will be the fall pumpkin/October/Halloween hats and such! We will be doing as needed drop offs for families across the nation continued and also families local to us in surrounding Nicus we also have another plan for T-shirts in the following months

As always, if you know a parent who is in need of emotional, physical and financial support or even a high risk parent who is dealing with complicated pregnancies and low chances. Please direct them to our director Alexandria Hicks so that we may assist as much as we can where we can. Happy Tuesday everyone !

Just a early week update on where we are and what we are working on, we are still actively collecting to fill backpacks for families who have children in the NICU and at home as well, we are in need of ALL supplies and we are extremely grateful for those who have donated already. If you would like to order supplies online or in person or drop off please let us know as soon as possible 🎒🤍 we are so grateful for all the love already sent towards this specific outreach and can’t wait to drop off already!!

SECONDLY!

We haven’t “officially “ dropped the news yet but this is more a teaser for our SECOND annual “project pumpkin” where we donate hundreds of pumpkin hats to LVL3 nicus across the nation. (our incredible crochet friends have already started to work on some hats and patterns and we are so excited to see them!!) we plan to collect til the end of September so we can promptly start Santa hats directly after!! If you know any friends or crocheters who would like to become a part of these events please send them our way! Even if it’s one hat made, that is still one hat donated to a baby and family who will never forget the gift you gave them! 🤍

A very, very tremendous thank you to Missy Lee and more for their donation of our Fourth of July hats this year!! As a parent of a medically fragile child, who spent 10+ holidays inside the hospital, I know how important it is to celebrate each and every day and make the most out of it. For a lot of these babies they are too critical to be put in outfits and moved around too much so all they are able to wear for months upon months are a simple crochet hat. And in the worst of case scenarios, sometimes this may be a baby’s first and last holiday so every last one of them deserve to be celebrated in someway 🤍🇺🇸 It means a lot for the parents have hats that are created specifically with them in mind and as cute as this so thank you again to our beautiful Missy!! and if followers could please keep her in mind and spirit as well. She is navigating some tough news that we are believing in full healing and restoration!!

We are still collecting school supplies of all sorts as we welcome into July and prep for the following months and we currently have three bags in donation and several other bags that have been pledged but if you were interested in donating or sponsoring a bag, please let our team know know as soon as possible as we are hoping to donate by August 5th, can roughly be filled for under $20 and a very, very gently used backpack can make all the difference for a family in a critical time of their life. Even if it’s dollar store, pencils and notebooks and paper. That is still pencils and supplies that a parent will not have to worry about buying for their child as they are out of work financially struggling during this time.
