Hello Ruff Road Community

We have been struggling with activity as we were preparing for the passing of our beloved father, John Pecsi. As of 8/15/2025 he has lost his very long and triumphant battle with metastic cancer. We are asking for donations for food, and plea to anyone considering adoption to take a look at our amazing dogs. We are in an increased need of support to allow us to properly grieve his loss.

John was not only an amazing father, but he loved our dogs so much and supported them in any aspect he could. He helped build our kennels, clean their spaces and feed them their meals. He grew very fond of our rescue resident willow, and aided in her recovery from worms. He was immensely proud of what we do and took every chance he could to brag, to anyone who would listen.

Please donate, share, and adopt. We are so grateful for the continued support and would love to find amazing homes for these dogs, and give our family the space to grieve. The link in our bio has all of the resources 🩵🐾

Thank you 🩵

Lacey has taught us so much about strength and resiliency.

This sweet little terrier is one of many dogs discarded in a high traffic dumping area of Phelan, an expansive region of California's High Desert. Lacey was dumped with her mom and brother, and all three of them sat in the same spot waiting for their family to come back.

While Lacey waited for rescue, her mom and brother were picked up by animal control. As she waited alone she was attacked by one of the deserts many predators, likely a coyote. She was found dripping blood from her throat and ears, and without rescue she likely wouldn't have made it through the night.

The terrible things that these abandoned animals experience can turn them sour, violent, and distrustful, but not Lacey. Lacey has experienced the most disgusting sides of humanity, from being abandoned, watching her mom and brother be taken away by animal control, to being attacked and left for dead, the world has not been kind to her. Still she had enough strength in her that she sat and waited for her people to come back for her.

You wouldn't guess by seeing Lacey that she was given up on, and discarded like trash. She is always so excited to meet everyone, and loves her people and friends as if life has never treated her unfairly. We could all learn a thing or two from her to become better humans.

Lacey is estimated to be about 1.5-2 years old. She is very spunky and energetic, loves to play, and is also very affectionate and enjoys time in bed or on the couch hanging out. She will follow you everywhere, and sit at your feet waiting for you to go on your next adventure together. She's about 25 lbs, spayed thanks to .foundation, vaccinated, and microchipped! If you're interested in giving Lacey her forever home, please send us a message or fill out the application in our bio!

(Lacey has made a full recovery from her attack last year!)

Can you help us with kibble?

Hello community, we are in big need of help with kibble, please please help us if you can!

We go through a TON of food each day, we need more kibble! Kibble of any kind is appreciated, and we try to avoid chicken because some of our dogs have chicken allergies. We are working to bulk up some of the dogs who are thinner, and wet food would be a lot of help to them.

We use 35-45lbs of food each day, and we buy Pedigree Steak and vegetable to be as consistent as possible. Each bag is $30 including tax at most stores, so each week we need $210 a week for kibble!

We need food and more! + updates

Thank you to those who have helped us, we have received shampoos from our Amazon wish list, as well as the funds needed for willows second f***l exam! We still need help with a few things, please donate if you can!

Food:
We go through a TON of food each day, we need more kibble! Kibble of any kind is appreciated, and we try to avoid chicken because some of our dogs have chicken allergies. We are working to bulk up some of the dogs who are thinner, and wet food would be a lot of help to them.

We use 35-45lbs of food each day, and we buy Pedigree Steak and vegetable to be as consistent as possible. Each bag is $30 including tax at most stores, so each week we need $210 a week for kibble!

Sanitation supplies:
Potty pads, p**p bags, towels, cleaning sprays, laundry detergent, scrub brushes, sponges, and so on. We make efforts to keep the space for these animals as clean as possible, and any supplies are appreciated (the dollar store has some affordable goodies!)

Health/ medical supplies:
We are in need of pet safe Benadryl, anti itch spray, salmon oil/ omega 3, coconut oil, and other products to help with the seasonal allergy symptoms many of our shepherds are exhibiting.

Vaccines:
We have been approved to hold adoption events at a PetSmart in Chino! To bring our dogs in, we have to get them current on Rabies, general 5-way, and Bordetella vaccinations. All dogs are current on rabies, though many need their general and Bordetella vax. The complete cost for both cases of vaccines plus shipping is $318.97, directed donations can be made to our PayPal or CashApp if you are able to help!

Please help us ensure care for these pups, and thank you to everyone for the continued support!

BE ON THE LOOK OUT, SHE MAY YAP YOUR EAR OFF!

Sammie is wanted alive, as her crimes are far too heinous to let her go on unpunished. She yapped so much that everyone in Los Angeles County has filed at least one noise complaint. The last straw? She stormed into the local animal shelter and released ONLY the chihuahuas and Australian cattle dogs to form an army of yappers.

Other than being a serial yapper, Sammie's only other vice is that she barely looks like a dog. Sort of wild looking, maybe part fox, or coyote? Whatever she is, nature did not intend for it to happen. A bonus is her bushy tail can be used to get the dust off of your shelves!

If you see (or hear) Sammie (or the perfect family for her), please call your local sheriff station (or us here at Ruff Road Rescue), and bail her out!

344 days and no interested adopters...

Mama was the first rescue we took in as Ruff Road Rescue, and is more than just a resident. Mama will be with us for life unless we can find the most AMAZING family on earth. As our mission has continued, and her personality started showing more, we just knew she deserved a life full of toys, love, and dedication. Mama deserves a home with enough attention to make up for all of the time she spent without, multiplied by 3.

We believe Mama is about 7 years old, but don't let that number fool you. Mama is one of the strongest, fastest, and most playful rescue residents here. Mama can clear a 6 foot fence in one jump, is great on a leash, and picks up basic commands easily. Mama is fully crate trained, making the adjustment period easier, and prepared to be kept safe when left home alone! Mama is also great with kids, we believe she had multiple litters in her time outside, and it shows with how delicate she is.

Mama would make an amazing family pet, and she would be an amazing addition to a preexisting pack, with an owner who likes to teach their dogs, and also give her the luxury of being a couch dog. Mama is one of the most special and intimate dogs that we have had the privilege to meet, and she deserves a life outside of our rescue. There is difficulty in keeping pets as a rescuer because we want to continue helping, and we want to find people who can promise these babies a FOREVER.

Please PLEASE break our hearts by taking this sweet girl home with you. Mommy is spayed, current on rabies and general 5-way vaccine, and microchipped! We want nothing more than to give this AMAZING dog the best life she could possibly have.

We need food and more! Can you help our dogs?

Hello Ruff Road Community! We would like to thank everyone's continued support through our inactivity. We have been working long and hard over here, and we're in need of some more supplies to keep caring for the abandoned animals of the High Desert.

Food:
We go through a TON of food each day, we need more kibble! Kibble of any kind is appreciated, and we try to avoid chicken because some of our dogs have chicken allergies. We are working to bulk up some of the dogs who are thinner, and wet food would be a lot of help to them.

Health/ medical supplies:
We are in need of pet safe Benadryl, anti itch/ medicated shampoos, anti itch spray, salmon oil/ omega 3, coconut oil, and other products to help with the seasonal allergy symptoms many of our shepherds are exhibiting.

We are also in need of funds to get rescue WILLOW into the vet for her second f***l exam to clear her of worms that she was fighting for MONTHS. Her exam is $85 and we have a balance of $15 at Mission Animal Hospital towards her test. Directed donations can also be made directly Mission Animal Hospital 661-526-1300 (phone number on account- 8052709007 for Heileigh Rymer/ Ruff Road Rescue).

Please help us ensure care for these pups, and thank you to everyone for the continued support!
