What a beautiful day for a drive to another Central Texas Museum to take a class on the art of Egg Decorating.
Different cultural groups within Germany had a number of ways to decorate eggs typically for Easter.
Today we learned the way of dying eggs alternating colors and adding melted beeswax in different patterns. We also learned the Scratch Method where alternating different colored eyes and scratching off a design with a sharp pointed tool in order to create the beautiful multicolored art pieces as well.
One would definitely NOT want to crack open these beautiful pieces of art.
The Wendish Museum should be on everyone's They have a beautiful native plants garden filled with beautiful blooming treasures. The cemetery of the church right next door is filled with flowers and beautifully manicured juniper trees. The church itself is on the tour.

On this date, June 6th, 1944 over 22,000 Texans served in Normandy.
We salute those who served and all who gave their lives that fateful day 82 years ago.

Those Pflugerville heroes who fought in WWII are memorialized at the Pflugerville Fallen Warriors Memorial

The Austin Lacemakers Guild will be having a class at Heritage House Museum Sunday, June 7th from 12:30 to 2:30 pm.
Heritage House Partners Museum is so glad to be able to have the Guild here again at our Open Haus Sunday.

If anyone is wanting to learn an almost lost art from times past then come visit us.
A class like this is in the perfect setting inside the 1913 home William Gotlieb Bohls surrounded by Heritage Park.

Today is a day our great country has set aside to Honor those men and women that gave the ultimate sacrifice to their Country with their lives.
Originally known as Decoration Day because it was the day on which we would decorate the resting places of the soldiers that were killed in battle by placing wreaths and flags to honor them.

We Honor All who gave their lives in Service.

West Pecan Street, then and now.
On the South side of Pecan St and the East side of 1st St there were 3 buildings set together. Now there are only 2.
The third building on the left side was a Meat Market.
The center building, (now )early on was Lillie French Restaurant and in the 1960's L & M Builder's and 1970's was the Beauty Shop.
The building on the right was in the 60's and early 70's Priem's Tavern.

Thank you to Linda Oertli for giving the photos of before and after the Market was demolished and thank you for helping preserve Pflugerville's past!

She is a big proponent of Heritage House Partners and Pflugerville's history.
She has dedicated her life to Texas education.
