There is still time to donate to the Blessing Tree!

We are still in need of gift cards! We have 41 families (including 74 kids) we would like to bless this Christmas and we are very short on gift cards! We are asking for gift cards to HEB, Walmart, Amazon and Target. Email [email protected] for questions on more information.

This year we have 41 families to bless with the Blessing Tree. This includes 74 children! It is our hope to be able to bless each mom with an HEB gift card, each family a gift card to a restaurant and each child a gift card to Target, Walmart or Amazon. We are still in need of A LOT of gift cards. These are due to be turned in by next Sunday, December 4th. They can be brought to the church office (Parkway Bible Church) during the week or dropped off at the Blessing Tree table in the lobby on Sunday. Please consider giving!

It is time for the annual Blessing Tree. We will be collecting gift cards for cards for the Restoration Blessings women and their children. We hope to be able to gift each family a gift card to a restaurant, each mom a gift card to HEB, and each child a gift card to Walmart, Target, or Amazon. You can also donate directly to the Blessing Tree fund and we can purchase gift cards.

Gift cards can be dropped off at Parkway Bible Church during office hours or at the Blessing Tree table on Sundays.

Monday, March 21 is Single Parent Awareness Day. There are 11 million single parents in the US today. If you are a single parent, we celebrate you and your successes in parenting alone. If you know a single parent, offer them some encouragement! Here are some ways you can bless them:
Take time to reach out to a single parent you know this week. Inspire them with some words of encouragement, or offer to help them with a household task.
Do something special for a single parent this week. Take them out to dinner, prepare a meal, or send them a small treat!
Offer childcare. Even just a few hours of free-time for a single parent could be greatly appreciated!

As a single mom, the days can be long and hard, and the demands, many. Strength is necessary for every battle. Strength is the ability to persevere through the darkest of days. Strength is getting out of bed and putting a smile on your face for your kids, even when you don’t feel like it. Strength is showing grace to your co-workers. Strength is remaining calm while you co-parent. Strength is the ability to choose faith over fear. What does strength look like to you?
