After further discussions, the board has decided the best course of action is to close down O.P. Veteran as an organization. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will focus on closing out all vendor accounts, selling/ donating any and all supplies and materials, and once final account has been completed, any remaining funds in the O.P. Veteran account will be donated to the CPL Chad O Foundation. The individual members of the board still share a passion for supporting our veteran community and will continue to work in various capacities. Again, I want to thank all of you who have supported O.P. Veteran in the past. Without your support, we wouldn't have lasted as long as we have.

The other day, a board member posted on his personal page a post that clearly crossed many lines. I do not agree with what was said, however I failed to address it in a timely manner. I take full 100% responsibility for that failure to act. It rested with me, and I didn't act fast enough or decisively enough. In the coming days, I will be resigning from O.P. Veteran. Talks are being has as to the future of O.P. Veteran, but I do not think anyone has the bandwidth to run it. Once a plan has been made, I will share it here so that everyone is aware. I do apologize for my inaction in this matter. I appreciate those who has supported us through the years, and I ask that you continue to support nonprofits which speak to your heart.

As we make our final preps for Garrison Retreat, I want to take a moment to thank The American Legion, George Johns Post 447. This post has stepped up so many times to assist us that they have almost become family. But what really amazes me about this post is their commitment to the local community. They sponsor local JROTC organizations (keeping them operating) they support local schools, and most importantly, they support organizations like O.P O.P. Veteran providing much needed support to the veteran community. Every time we talk to Post 477, it isn't "can you help?', it's them asking "How much help do you need?", and them moving mountains to make it happen. If you want to support the veteran community, you wouldn't be wrong supporting O.P. Veteran or more importantly, Post 447!!!!!

I hate to say this, but we are having to postpone O.P. VETFEST until next year. We were unable to secure an adequate location to hold O.P. VETFEST this year. We are currently looking to secure a few potential locations for next year. The team at O.P. Veteran sees the value in O.P. VETFEST and we endeavor to keep O.P. VETFEST the marque event that it should be. We thank you in advance for your understanding, and look to next year to attend as a vendor or guest either way, you are sure to have a wonderful day celebrating all that is our veteran community.

Today we closed out our very first female O.P. Veteran Garrison Retreat. What am amazing weekend. We had the honor of spending the weekend with some amazing women. Between the mindful thinking class, the Painting with a Veteran, and deep dive into resiliency. This was one of our best retreats to date. I have to give a huge thank you to my Team. Mario Cavazos, Melissa Barrón Sosa, Violet Dussault, Adriana Edwards, and Kris Vandenberg..... Y'all knocked it out of the park. I am so proud of y'all. The planning, prep, and ex*****on couldn't have been better. I also want to send a special thank you to our sponsors. Solid Rock Ranch, American Trigger Pullers, and Humana, your contribution and continued support was key to this highly successful weekend. Thank you from the bottom o my heart for your support.

So, this past Saturday, O.P. Veteran Held Crawfish for a Cause. I just have to say thank you to quite a few people and groups. First, The American Legion, George Johns Post 447, our host and biggest supporter. They opened their doors and arms to us in a last minute change. Truly an amazing organization doing huge things for the Round Rock community and the veteran community. A huge, huge, HUGE thank you to Voodoo Crawfish by Steph!!!!! There are no words to convey my admiration for Stephanie. She and her team volunteer their time and equipment to come up from Port Aransas and spend the day cooking some of the best crawfish around. She has done this happily for the past three year and I hope many year in the future. A big thank you to Denny Katona, who, as always did an amazing job with our flyers, banners, and other marketing material. His eye for graphic arts is an amazing talent for a "shirt designer" Most of all, the O.P. Veteran team. Jonathan Holloway, Melissa Barrón Sosa, Mario Cavazos, and Jonathan Cursey..... These guys worked their butts off behind the scenes. They found sponsors, they worked to find auction items, and spend the better part of Saturday giving of themselves to ensure that our event was successful. with this team, we will make such a positive impact to the veteran community. I'm so looking forward to seeing what we accomplish this year!!!!!! Last but not least, I want to think all the folks who threw down on some craw fish and supported us. Your help will go directly back to the veteran community. Thank you again everyone who played a part Saturday!!!
