Announcing Auditions for Voices of Now - a collection of short plays that make you think.

Auditions are Sunday, August 23, from 6PM - 8PM, and Monday, August 24, from 7PM to 9PM, at The Listening Room at St. James Episcopal Church, 612 Davis St., Taylor, TX.

No appointment is necessary. Attend one or both evenings. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the scripts.

Cast Needed:

White male 30+; White male to play 60+; Black female to play 60+; Young female identifying or teen to play a teenager; Two male identifying - one White and one Hispanic (Spanish speaker or can memorize the dialogue in Spanish) - to play young boys - 15+. Two actors - any age, gender, race, ethnicity.

What begins as a simple high school reunion invitation unfolds into an unflinching, tender conversation about race, memory, and what was left unsaid. “Reunion” explores how old wounds, deep truths, and unexpected kinship can emerge in the most ordinary moments.

On a stormy Halloween night, a tween girl out trick-or-treating talks herself into a strange man’s house. He’s unnerved by costume (and her presence) and tries to send her home. She’s frightened by the storm and refuses to leave. As the dangers outside grow closer and louder, will he be able to keep his promise to protect her?

Performances will be in Taylor, TX, in October:

October 16-17 at 7:30 PM, and October 18, at 3:00 PM, at Black Sparrow Music Parlor
October 23-24 at 7:30 PM, and October 25, at 3:00 PM, at The Listening Room at St. James Episcopal Church
