This is TJ. 🐾🧡

When TJ was born, he was the runt of the litter. He was so tiny, frail, and skinny that the wind could practically knock him over.

He didn’t look powerful. He didn’t look extraordinary. He simply looked like a fragile little life that needed someone to believe he was worth fighting for.

So I did.

Today, that tiny kitten has grown into this handsome, deeply loved orange boy. TJ has been featured in a Paw Print calendar, and his face has appeared on puzzles, pillows, canvases, paintings, and more.

The kitten who once struggled just to stay on his feet became someone’s artwork. Someone’s calendar page. Someone’s keepsake.

But long before any of that, he became part of my heart.

This boy changed my life. But the beautiful truth is that I had the power to change his, too—and I chose to use it.

That is what I want people to understand about community cats and vulnerable animals. You may look at one frightened, sick, skinny, or unwanted cat and wonder how much difference one person can really make.

Sometimes, one person is the entire difference.

You may not be able to help every animal you encounter. Neither can I. But you can feed one. Share one. Advocate for one. Help connect someone with TNR, veterinary care, a rescue, or another local resource. You can choose not to look away.

So, can someone out there be the reason the next TJ gets the chance to grow up?

Because somewhere, another tiny life is waiting for someone to believe it is worth saving. 🧡🐾

Meet Leonheart — Leo for short. 🦁🐾

Leo may be the smallest member of the group, but he has already earned himself a very big name—and found himself the perfect throne: my Pink Lady flower bed. 🌸

He loves climbing into the planter, curling up among the flowers like it was personally designed to be his cat bed, and then slowly crawling out to stretch in the sunshine. Apparently, my plants are now also luxury kitten furniture.

When he isn’t napping among the Pink Ladies, Leo can usually be found coming out for meals alongside Goldie and Silver, staying close to the other cats, and carefully watching absolutely everything around him.

He is curious, cautious, and brave in his own quiet way. Leo is still a little skittish, but he does enjoy gentle pets once he feels safe. I have even been able to briefly pick him up before, which feels like a huge step for such a cautious little guy.

For now, Leo’s main priorities seem to be:

🍽️ finding the food
🐾 staying close to the other cats
👀 watching absolutely everything
🌸 turning my flower bed into his personal cat bed
☀️ stretching out in the sunshine
🦁 and growing into the mighty little Leonheart he was named to be

Every community cat has their own personality, comfort level, and story. Leo’s is only just beginning, and I’m excited to watch him grow, gain confidence, and trust me a little more each day.

Welcome to Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends, little Leonheart—guardian of the Pink Ladies, professional sunbather, and tiny king of the flower bed. 🌸☀️🤎

Meet Silver 🩶🐾

Silver is Goldie’s littermate, but their personalities are very different.

Unlike Goldie, Silver is much more cautious around people. She stays close enough to eat with the group and occasionally lets me pet her, but if she sees a hand reaching toward her, she usually runs.

The interesting part is that once I’m able to gently pet her, she actually leans into it and lifts her little butt for more. 🥹 She seems to enjoy affection—she just hasn’t learned to trust the approach yet.

Silver isn’t mean or unfriendly. She’s scared, observant, and still figuring out whether people are safe. With patience, consistency, and no pressure, I’m hoping she continues to build confidence at her own pace.

In this photo, Silver is eating alongside Goldie and little Leo. A whole tabby family dinner. 🤎

🐾 Welcome to Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends! 🐾

This page was created for the animals in our community who are too often overlooked—stray and community cats and dogs, working cats used for pest control, and sick or injured animals who may have no one advocating for them.

Right now, we are not a rescue, shelter, foster program, or veterinary organization, and we cannot promise medical treatment, rehabilitation, rehoming, or adoption services.

What we CAN do is educate, advocate, raise awareness, share trustworthy local resources, and help connect people with TNR programs, low-cost veterinary services, rescues, fosters, food resources, and other organizations that may be able to help our community friends.

Our long-term dream is to grow into an organization that can provide more direct support. For now, we are starting where every meaningful change begins: with compassion, education, connection, and a community willing to care.

Please follow the page, share our posts, invite local friends, and send us any reliable resources that could help Pflugerville’s community animals.

Together, we can help make sure fewer animals are ignored simply because they do not have a home—or a human voice. 💜🐾

🐾💜 MEET GOLDIE 💜🐾

Goldie is one of the reasons Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends exists.

She is approximately nine months old and was born into a free-roaming cat colony here in our community. I personally watched the litter she came from grow up on the property, and Goldie has lived there her entire life.

Despite being so young, Goldie has already had one litter of kittens. To my knowledge, she has never received veterinary care, vaccinations, or sterilization.

Goldie is also incredibly affectionate and socialized with people. She seeks out human attention, accepts handling, and deserves the opportunity to live a healthy, safe life.

Based on my observations and previous experience caring for pregnant cats, I believe Goldie may currently be pregnant again. Her pregnancy and overall health have not yet been confirmed by a veterinarian, and obtaining appropriate care and assistance for her is one of our current priorities.

Goldie’s story represents a much larger problem.

When free-roaming cats are allowed to reproduce generation after generation without sterilization, veterinary care, consistent safe food, or clean water, the cycle continues. More kittens are born into the same conditions, and the population becomes increasingly difficult to manage humanely.

Our goal is to help break that cycle.

We want to connect cats like Goldie with veterinary resources, sterilization programs, rescue organizations, responsible homes when appropriate, and people willing to advocate for humane solutions.

We will continue sharing updates about Goldie as we work to determine what resources are available to help her.

If you know of a legitimate local rescue organization, veterinarian, TNR program, foster, or other resource that may be able to assist, please contact Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends.

🐾💜 Welcome to Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends! 💜🐾

This page was created because the stray and community cats living around us deserve more than simply surviving.

They deserve clean water. Safe, species-appropriate food. Protection from unnecessary suffering. Access to spay and neuter resources. Medical attention when they are sick or injured. The opportunity to find loving homes when adoption is possible.

Most importantly, they deserve a community willing to care.

Pflugerville’s Pfurry Pfriends is a newly formed, community-led advocacy effort dedicated to supporting stray and community cats in Pflugerville through education, humane colony care, Trap-Neuter-Rehab/Release support, rescue and resource connections, adoption advocacy, and stronger protections for vulnerable animals.

We are just getting started.

We are not currently a registered nonprofit, veterinary provider, or animal shelter. We are neighbors, animal advocates, and community members working to connect people, resources, rescues, and ideas that can improve the lives of cats in our community.

Our goal is to build something meaningful, transparent, and sustainable—one cat, one colony, and one compassionate neighbor at a time.

In the coming days, we’ll be sharing educational resources, local concerns affecting community cats, opportunities to help, stories of cats in our community, and ways we can work together to create lasting change.

If you care about the stray and community cats of Pflugerville, please follow our page, share our mission, and invite others to join us.

Even if you cannot foster, adopt, donate, or volunteer, you can still make a difference by helping these cats be seen.

🐾 Soft paws. Softer hearts. Stronger community. 💜
