Today is the first day of September, which means our annual Sleepers in September campaign has officially started! Sleepers in September helps newborns stay warm during the colder months of the year by donating sleepers to families in need. Babies are unable to regulate their body temperatures the same way we do, so they need to have the proper conditions in order to stay healthy and safe.

Do you want to know how you can support? You can donate sleepers to your local chapter, host a donation drive, make a monetary donation, or volunteer with your local chapter. You can also support this by sharing this flyer on your social media or sharing it with friends and family.

As you may be doing some back-to-school shopping or come across some sales, we would love for you to keep an eye out for sales on sleepers and onesies! Our Sleepers in September drive is just around the corner again, and newborns need warm, safe clothes to sleep in! So if you see any stores with sales, please consider buying some sleepers and donating them to your local chapter, or share the locations of the sales with us in our NIN community.

Thank you for your support!

This week, August 1st - 7th, we celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. It's an annual celebration held in over 120 countries to inform about breastfeeding and related issues. World Breastfeeding Week is meant to shine a particular spotlight on the support women and babies need from the healthcare system through their breastfeeding journey. It is essential to ensure every mother has access to the support and information she needs to breastfeed as long as she wishes to and is able to do so.

Breastfeeding delivers a hopeful future for children. It reduces healthcare costs, boosts cognitive development, strengthens economies, and sets children up with healthy beginnings.

Burp cloths might be a forgotten item when thinking of donations for newborns, but they can be a huge help for mamas with newborns. These can be made with cloth scraps; they can be knitted or crocheted, or you can purchase them to put in our essential kits from our Amazon wishlist: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/OBD4V18CERLD

Thanks for your donations!!

Newborns lack the ability to increase their body heat by shivering and do not have the body fat needed to warm themselves once they are cold. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends keeping soft objects and loose bedding out of the sleeping area for at least the first 12 months. Overheating can raise the risk of infant sleep death, also called SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Studies have shown that thick clothing, too many layers, and high room temperatures increase the risk of SIDS.

Our Sleepers in September drive supports Safe Sleep practices by collecting sleepers for babies in need so they can maintain a safe temperature. To learn more, check out our website:

This Mother’s Day, we honor all mothers and also hold space for those carrying hardship, grief, or loss. Motherhood can be filled with deep love, joy, sacrifice, and challenges alike. Today, we’re thinking of every person whose journey has been touched by motherhood in some way.

Today we honor the moms who give everything for their little ones, and we thank our supporters who help us provide essential newborn care kits to families in need. Because something as simple as clean clothing, diapers, blankets, and hygiene essentials can make a world of difference for a new mother welcoming her baby into the world.

Together, we are helping families feel seen, supported, and cared for during life’s most precious moments.

Happy Mother’s Day! ❤️
