Looking for Answers

We are asking the Parker Community for any information that can help us figure out who abandoned these dogs yesterday. It happened near the parking lot of Pioneer Elementary, off of Riva Ridge, at about 8:30 am on August 6th, 2025. All we have at this time is that a white pick-up with a topper dropped these two dogs off and then drove away. The driver was described as a white male, middle-aged, of average build. One of the dogs is an adult female, the other is a six-month-old puppy. Neither are chipped, and both have signs of neglect.

We are hoping to get any information someone might have who may have been in the area that day, or information from a dash camera or other video, such as doorbell footage.

The dogs are currently being cared for at a shelter.

Always research a breed before you get a dog. Make sure their energy matches yours, see what their drive is and whether or not you can give them the exercise and mental stimulation they need.

I absolutely adore senior dogs! They come with a lot of extra responsibilities though. Saw this on another page and can definitely relate. My #1 answer is “you have more pill bottles and supplements for the dogs than you do yourself” (we have a whole cabinet with counter space below for them) and my #2 answer is “you have two CareCredit accounts and both are maxed”. What would your response be?

A friend posted this today, and it actually reminded me of all the 2’ish year olds we got in over the years. Right in the middle of that raptor period. You see people would get these cute little fuzzball puppies and expect that perfectly behaved calm golden retriever they saw on tv, social media, or at friend’s house. It’s this simple, if you happen to get a dog and skip that raptor period it is a fluke. And if they don’t get the exercise and training they need, they will become destructive unruly teenagers. That’s when the young ones would typically be surrendered to rescue. At that point if we were lucky we would find a strong dog savvy foster or home to reverse the damage. If not their stay in rescue could be lengthy. Morale of the story, please do your research on the breed you are interested in and make sure you will have the time and energy needed to exercise and train a dog before you go looking.

Courtesy Listing - Chewy is a 4 year old female Bull Terrier and just as sweet as can be. Give her a few belly rubs and she will love you forever! She did not get along with the other dog in her prior home, so in her forever she would need to be your one and only. She has been fostering in a training facility and has learned lots of manners as well as basic obedience. Courtesy Listing - Bo is an approximately 2 year old male bully breed with heterochromia - one blue eye and one brown eye. He has lots of energy and will need a strong dog-savvy owner willing to continue his training. While Bo loves his people, he has no desire to share his home with another dog nor does he want to socialize with one. Due to his his high energy, he will need a home without small children. Penny has no desire to live or socialize with other dogs, so will need to be your one and only. She will need an owner committed to that and keeping her safe! Penny has been fostering at a training facility, where she has learned lots of manners and commands. If you or someone you know is interested, please send us a message.
