Positively Pewaukee: The End of an Era

Since 1996, Positively Pewaukee has consistently supported Pewaukee's people and its businesses. We are both happy and proud of the work we have done on behalf of the community. Unfortunately, since Covid, we have had a series of leadership transitions and financial difficulties due to event cancellations and sponsorship disruptions. Collectively, the Board of Directors has made the incredibly difficult decision that it is no longer feasible to have Positively Pewaukee operate as an ongoing entity. Although the Board is beginning the process of winding down the operation of Positively Pewaukee, we want each of you to know that the members of this Board fully support the community and its businesses, and we will continue to do so in our individual capacities. As we wrap up operations, we will be reviewing how to ethically end our contracts and responsibly refund sponsorships. Please understand that for all of us, serving the Pewaukee community has been one of our greatest honors. We hope you also know that continuing to participate in the Pewaukee community will be one of our greatest pleasures.

Tom Brussow has been a resident of Pewaukee for more than 20 years. Along the way, his daughter, Sophia, graduated from PHS in 2023. Tom remains an avid fan and supporter/sponsor of Pewaukee athletics.

Tom has enjoyed a more than 30-year travel industry career serving in various executive-level positions in sales, marketing, and business development.

Tom is currently the Managing Director of Pewaukee-based Sunsational Beach Vacations and VP, Strategic Initiatives for Travel Leaders Discovery, one of the largest travel agency groups in WI and the U.S.

With more than 150 trips to Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Europe, and the U.S., Tom has significant first-hand travel knowledge and a limitless passion for the many benefits and unique experiences that travel can so eloquently provide.

Tom is a graduate of Carroll University.

Jennifer Laboy is a seasoned professional with 15 years of experience in the senior living field, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to community engagement. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from UW-Stout, where she also served as Panhellenic President for the Delta Zeta Sorority, demonstrating her early leadership skills.

Having grown up in Waukesha County, Jennifer has always felt a deep connection to Pewaukee. Her career has taken her to various leadership roles, including serving on the Board of Directors for the South Shore Chamber of Commerce while she was the Director of Sales at Howard Village. Her dedication and success were recognized in 2020 when she was inducted into the President’s Club with Brookdale Senior Living.

Jennifer's passion for marketing and promotion extends beyond her primary career. She has also applied her skills to the music industry, providing promotion for musician Keith Pulvermacher. This experience included managing his social media postings, marketing his brand, promoting upcoming shows, and helping to roll out his album release.

Currently, Jennifer is a Sales Consultant with The Waters of Pewaukee Senior Living. At The Waters, she is involved in event planning, organizing events for residents as well as for community partners and vendors. She has a deep understanding of Positively Pewaukee’s mission to unite the community through initiatives that encourage growth, unity, and support. Jennifer is not just a professional in the area; she is an active member of the community who has immersed herself in Pewaukee, and she is honored by the opportunity to be an integral part of Positively Pewaukee.

On a personal note, Jennifer is a proud mom to Jordan and Taylor, and a proud dog mom to Finn. Her diverse skills in marketing and event planning, combined with her proven leadership and deep-rooted passion for the community makes her a wonderful asset to our board.

The Pewaukee High School Serving Others Insight program has been busy volunteering!

Today, we picked up pumpkins from a local farm, generously donated by Chris R Lueth Agency, Inc. - American Family Insurance - Pewaukee, WI and then dropped them off at the school district.

From here, the Insight stduents will be working with students from PLE to decorate the pumpkins and then hand them out to our downtown businesses in order to get our area lookng festive for the season.
