I am a passionate breast cancer advocate who has transformed my lived experience into passion & purpose. After being diagnosed with early stage breast cancer in 2018, at the age of 46, and later experiencing a reoccurrence in 2023 with metastatic breast cancer, I have deepened my commitment to supporting and empowering others impacted by the disease.

My volunteer work with local cancer support organizations includes starting a local support group and serving as President of Sisters Network Southeast Wisconsin. I am involved with the American Cancer Society-CAN, ABCD, the National Consortium of Breast Centers Advocacy Committee, and I serve on the MCW Community Advisory Board and the UW Carbone -WI Voices in Cancer Disparities. I am also an elected Member for the National Metastatic Breast Cancer Alliance organization.

Living with an incurable diagnosis is not easy, every month is full of appointments, labs, scans; side effects & medications come daily. My network of family, friends & faith give me strength to live my life Fully and I look for “JOY in the JOurneY” everyday!

“Faith over Fear”

What a wonderful time at Stepping With The Stars! ✨

I do not own rights to this music, it’s for educational purposes

I truly enjoyed spending the evening surrounded by so many amazing people and seeing so many cancer survivors and thrivers being celebrated. The energy, the stories, the strength, and the joy in the room were inspiring.

Everything was absolutely beautiful, and it was a reminder of why events that honor survivorship and community matter so much. Thank you to everyone who helped make the evening special.

As I continue preparing for BEAUTIFUL 2026: Life After Cancer, moments like these remind me how powerful it is when survivors come together to share hope, resilience, and life beyond diagnosis.

I would love for you to join us at BEAUTIFUL 2026 as we celebrate survivor stories, courage, and the beauty of life after cancer.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1993,I was 41 years old. I had just moved to Milwaukee a few months earlier. My diagnosis was Ductal Carcinoma Insitu. I had a Right Modified Radical Mastectomy followed by 6 months of Chemo therapy. When I received this diagnosis FEAR was my first response. I chose not to have reconstruction, I continue to this day towear a breast prosthesis. Even though I was afraid I had to ACCEPT my new norm. I decided I may have been bent but I was not broken. Understanding how fortunate I was with my personal breast cancer journey, I felt EMPOWERED to help other women. I realized that so many women had far greater challenges than I had experienced. I felt it was my moral obligation to help with this breast cancer issue in any way that I could.
Since then, I have been a Reach to Recovery Volunteer for the American Cancer Society and a Mentor for ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis where I also serve on their Board of Directors. I am a past President of the Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition. I am a trained team leader on public policy for the Nation Breast Cancer Coalition, leading Wisconsin delegates on Capitol Hill, lobbing for breast cancer issues. 14 years ago I formed an organization “Nurses Affecting Change, this organization is committed to screening women for breast cancer.
I will continue my advocacy until breast cancer is no longer a life threating disease.

Feeling incredibly grateful and honored to be featured in this month’s newsletter and podcast conversation with the amazing Savage Support💕

Thank you for creating space for survivors to share their voices, stories, struggles, strength, and purpose. These conversations matter more than people know. As a breast cancer survivor, founder of Chandra’s Breast Cancer Models, and advocate for those rebuilding life after cancer, I’m thankful for every opportunity to remind someone that they are still beautiful, still worthy, and still here for a reason.

I invite everyone to take a listen to the podcast and support the powerful work Savage Support is doing in our community. Please continue lifting up survivors, thrivers, caregivers, and families walking this journey.

And don’t forget, tickets are now available for BEAUTIFUL 2026: Life After Cancer Fashion Show & Storytelling on June 13, 2026. ✨
An afternoon of survivor stories, fashion, inspiration, healing, community, and hope.

Thank you all for continuing to support this mission and for standing with us as we raise awareness and support survivors in need through S.H.O.C. Transitional Housing. 💕
