We are finally (kinda) catching our breath after a truly dynamic March! MRC hosted a spring training series for local fire department personnel and fire practitioners in collaboration with Briceland Fire and HumCo PBA. Over 100 people from all over the North Coast came together to share ideas, grow practical fire skills and gain Resource Advisor, S-112, FFT2, S-244 and S-290 certificates. We are proud to say the bulk of these training days were field based! Cheers to our local fire community (especially Jose and Andrea from the Watershed Center and Kyle Keegan) for thinking of creative ways to share knowledge in the field on land we all steward. And an extra big shout out to the weather gods who all conspired to host a burn day March 29 to put all we learned into true practice!

Funding for the Spring Workshop Series provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Business and Workforce Development Grants and the California State Coastal Conservancy Fire Resilience Grants. Thank you!
