Great Lakes Center for the Arts Serving Northern Michigan year-round through impactful performing arts and educational opportunities.

When the curtain rose for the first time at the Grand Opening on July 7, 2018, the Great Lakes Center for the Arts became a cultural and social hub in Northern Michigan offering year-round events across all genres—music, dance, theater, movies and film, intellectual dialogue, education—making it a regional and national performing arts destination. As an architectural landmark designed by renowned theater designers Fisher Dachs Associates and architects TowerPinkster, the Center is centrally located in Northern Michigan, just outside of Petoskey on US31, near Harbor Springs, Charlevoix, and Boyne City. The Center includes a beautifully crafted, intimate 525-seat theater housing a large stage with state-of-the-art features that meet the demands of internationally acclaimed artists and companies. The Center’s spaces such as the Community Engagement Room, Rooftop Terrace, Main Level Patio, and Donor Lounge allow patrons to gather, enjoy conversations, a beverage, and views of Lake Michigan prior to events. The Great Lakes Center for the Arts is a 501(c)3 charitable organization with an independent Board of Directors.

Artrageous brings live painting, music, movement, and plenty of surprises to the Center this Friday and Saturday. And yes, one person from each audience gets to take home the artwork created on stage.

To help protect our patrons from third-party ticket resellers, electronic tickets will be issued closer to the performance date. This change begins with our holiday season.

After your purchase, you’ll receive an order confirmation right away. Your tickets will be available through the link in that confirmation email 48 hours before the performance.

Purchasing within that 48-hour window? Your tickets will be available immediately through the same link.

This Friday, please join us at Great Lakes Center for the Arts for our Community Arts Night, an evening celebrating area youth creativity!
Art, music, recitations, and cookies—what more could you want from a family-friendly event?
Students will present poetry and monologues based on “The Chronicles of Narnia,” youth art featuring Narnia, Middle-earth, and fairy tales will be on display, musicians will perform on stage while an artist completes a painting live—it’s an opportunity to acknowledge our young creators, the arts, and, of course, the fantastical realms of Lewis and Tolkien.
Students 18 & under are free of charge, and adult tickets are $5 each. To register, please visit cslewisfestival.org/festival-schedule/.

What Would You Love to See on Our Stage? 🎭✨

Since opening in 2018, we’ve presented our own professional productions of shows including Million Dollar Quartet, The Buddy Holly Story, Godspell, Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys, and Come From Away. We’re proud to bring this work and talented performers to Northern Michigan.

As we consider musicals and plays for future seasons, we’d love to hear what interests you! Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts. We will review your responses and use them in our planning for future productions.
