Scottie's Place

Scottie's Place is dedicated to assisting children affected by poverty & conflict around the world.

Scottie's Place blends educational programs with wilderness adventure and mentoring relationships. Our goal is to help children and youth develop the abilities that will lead them out of their vulnerable circumstances and onto a path of productivity and positive impact; that will assist them in breaking the generational chain of poverty and becoming a resource within their communities. All of our

programs are offered free of charge to all participants and are funded by private, civic, corporate, foundation and church-based charitable donations.

LEEP 2015 has come to an end in Dukwi camp. What an incredible year full of success, joy, hard work, and service. Recently, LEEP staff held their second retreat at . Planned and led by staff themselves, they began preparations for winding down LEEP 2015, strengthened their bond and teamwork, practiced upcoming after-school lessons, and - of course - had a ton of fun! We're very proud of the exceptional leadership of all the LEEP staff and applaud them, once again, for their dedication to children they serve and the larger Dukwi refugee community.

How incredible! LEEP students leading another service project in Dukwi. This time they're building a community garden at their primary school. Led by LEEP staff, students are identifying needs within the camp and following through with solutions. True !

Effective must be able to explore & appreciate various perspectives when faced with challenges or complex situations. Last week staff led students through the Six Thinking Hats activity. Presented with a real-life scenario, students wore different colored hats that represent different ways of thinking. In this fun way, students learned the importance of viewing challenges from different angles.
