Veterans Helping Veterans, By Being Veterans!

Rocky Mountain Veteran Adventures Foundation is here to Support our Men and Women of Military Service, “Give to us clear vision that we may know where to stand and what to stand for, because unless we stand for something we shall fall for anything. - Peter Marshall “. We at RMVAF stand by our men and women who have given so much so willingly, no questions as to their safety because they put our Nation First. Without these Amazing men and women we may not live such a free life. “ I thank god that I live in a country where dreams can come true, where failure sometimes is the first step to success and where success is only another form of failure if we forget what our priorities should be. – Harry Lloyd Hopkins”. We Dream that we can touch the Lives of many service members and remind them how proud of them we are as a Nation. Rocky Mountain Veteran Adventures Foundation supplies four or more service members twelve times a year with different outdoor adventures, along with 24/7 Hotlines to talk to other Veterans and a Private Cabin Located in the Beautiful Morgan County Mountains.

General information

Welcome to Rocky Mountain Veteran Adventure Foundation (RMVAF)! I am SGT Hoopes, US Army and Combat Veteran, deployed to Iraq 2003-2004, and to Afghanistan 2009-2010. After returning “home”, civilian life was never the same, over the past years my wife (the brains behind everything!) and I have been looking for ways to help with my PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) or PTSI (Post Traumatic Stress Injury) through the VA with fail, after fail, after fail, we felt alone and discouraged. Over the last year we have noticed the best thing to help was being with my battle buddies or being in the great outdoors I was so HAPPY and smiling came so easy. So we decided to start something that does both, bringing veterans together to start healing by just being together. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t matter what time period of war, it changes the warrior, but when meeting a fellow vet there is a mutual respect and unspoken understanding about what they are going through. The bonds with your brothers and sisters in arms that are forged together when going through the hell of war are NEVER broken. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! “Veterans Helping Veterans, by Being Veterans” is the best way to describe how we are operating the RMVAF.
