PETERSON HISTORY TRIVIA: Did you know that General W. T. Sherman once visited Peterson on an inspection trip of the western Iowa fortifications and spent time with visiting with the Christian Kirchner family in their log home? The Peterson blockhouse is the only remaining original vestige of the five area forts, known as the Northern Border Brigade, which were constructed in 1862-63.

Come by and visit the Blockhouse this Sunday, June 7th, from 1:00-4:00 and get a feel for early Peterson life.
