Menard County Fair Queen Pageant

Join Jr Miss Gabbi and Little Miss Penny at this awesome community event! We're so excited to participate and help provide a safe and fun trick or treating experience for our county!

For the first time, we are opening the historic village up for a safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating event!

Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site is proud to host the "Community Candy Crawl" on Friday, October 30th from 4PM to 6PM. Community groups, local businesses, and volunteers have been invited to decorate and come hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. There will be candy, free hot chocolate, and we will light up the lanterns in the village one last time in 2026. Mark your calendars and bring the family for a night of fun!

Railsplitter Gifts and Eatery will also remain open until 7PM on October 30th as well. You can even make the kids eat dinner before they fill up on candy!

If you are a local organization or business that would like to participate in this new event, please reach out to Trevor Thompson at [email protected]. Community groups are welcome to decorate a porch/doorway in the historic village.

I wanted to make a second post to shine some light on Queen Addie ✨

She got to the parade yesterday and asked how much longer until she needed to be in the car ready to go. Then she walked (up and down the hill in heels) and talked to as many people as she could. Not because she had to.. because she wanted to. And that sums up Queen Addie.

Her grandma told me yesterday that she doesn't think Addie has ever done just one thing at a time. She's out there making the most of every single occasion and we're proud to call her our fair queen. 🩵

It was another great day in Menard County!

The rain held off for the Petersburg Harvest Fest parade and ended up being a beautiful day with our queens.

A big thank you to Clint, John and Angie who allow us to use their convertibles ❤️🤍 and the MCF office secretary, Jaime, for stepping in and driving the second car!

Our first parade was a success! The Greenview Labor Day celebration is always so much fun. They do a wonderful job of gathering the community with fun events for people of all ages. It was a great way to start our parade year off!
