Last but certainly not least, we want to recognize 4-H member Kendall Gorby!

Kendall participated in the 4-H Goat Show at the Indiana State Fair, where she did an amazing job showing off her goats and participating in the Junior Showmanship Class!

This was Kendall’s first time showing livestock at the Indiana State Fair, and we are so proud of her for stepping into the ring and giving it her all!

Continuing our State Fair highlights, we’re excited to recognize Haley Hallett!

Haley participated in two events at the Indiana State Fair: the Public Speaking Contest and the Informative Speech Contest! She received a Blue ribbon for her public speaking speech and received a Red ribbon for her Informative Speech.

She did a fantastic job stepping onto the stage and confidently delivering her speeches. We are so proud of her hard work and dedication!

The Indiana State Fair may be over, but we’re still celebrating some of our amazing 4-H members who participated in events during the Indiana State Fair!

Did you have a 4-H project exhibited at the Indiana State Fair? Have you picked up your project yet?

All projects have been returned to Pike County and are ready to be picked up at the Purdue Extension Office in the courthouse. We ask that you please pick up your project(s) as soon as possible, as our office has limited space and does not have the capacity to store these projects for an extended period of time.

Our office is currently short-staffed, so please contact Brooke before coming to pick up your project to make sure she will be available.

State Fair Static Projects Are Coming Home!

State Fair Static Projects will be returning home this coming Monday! Starting Tuesday, August 25, you can pick up your projects and ribbons.

- Regular-sized projects: Purdue Extension Office in the courthouse
- Larger projects: 4-H Building

The office is normally open 8 a.m.–4 p.m., but due to staff being out for meetings, we will not open until closer to noon on Tuesday, August 25.

We are currently short staffed, so please call the office at 812-354-6838 or email Brooke at [email protected] to let us know when you plan to pick up your projects. This will help ensure Brooke is at the office when you arrive.

Our office is smaller and we do not have the capacity to store all of these projects for an extended period, so please try to pick up your projects as soon as possible. We greatly appreciate it!

Most importantly, we are so proud of everyone’s accomplishments this year! Congratulations to all of our 4-H members on a fantastic State Fair!

Pike County 4-H is proud to announce that one of our 4-H’ers, Haley Hallett, has been awarded a 2026 Indiana 4-H Accomplishment Scholarship in the Communication category!

Congratulations, Haley! She will be receiving a $1,000 scholarship in recognition of her hard work and accomplishments.

Back in January, Haley completed a scholarship application and submitted a resume and cover letter. She was then selected to advance to the next round, where she gave a short introduction speech and participated in an interview with a panel of judges.

What an incredible accomplishment! We are so proud of you, Haley!

Be sure to stop by the 4-H Exhibit Building at the Indiana State Fair to see Haley recognized for this outstanding achievement!
