Remarks by President JoAnn Snyder Harman- photos by Tracey Smith Mullenax Our Grant Co. CEOS - Community Educational Outreach Service celebrated our Achievement Dinner this evening at Grove Street United Methodist Church in Petersburg. Our theme was the "Grand Ole CEOS" featuring Grant County's own Minnie Pearl, Patty Adkins, who just happens to be our 2025 Grant County Belle, sponsored by our CEOS Council. The Grand Ole Opry is having their centennial celebration this fall, so we replicated their songs and stars into our program. We celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Jordan Run Club and had a memorial meditation for our deceased members, Donna Jeffers and Jo Ann Morgan, and our deceased agent, Dortha "Dottie" Riggleman. Our special guests, in addition to Patty Adkins, were our Keyser Area Representative and Assistant Representative, Tracey Mullenax and Jean Bradshaw, our Grant County WVU Extension Agent, Alex Mathias, and our Administrative Secretary, Hope Watts. Officers and Committee Chairs were recognized (and re-elected). Certificates were presented for clubs, Purpose Reading, and Volunteer Hours. Club reports were distributed to each attendee. Door prizes donated by each club were presented. We had the drawing for our handmade queen-size quilt, and it was won by Libby Berg.
As President of the Grant County CEOS Council, I thank each member of CEOS for helping to make the past year an incredible year. I thank each individual who purchased a raffle ticket for our quilt. I encourage everyone to go to the library in Petersburg and place a bid on our Silent Auction for Breast Cancer Awareness!
