A student-based organization at Vernon Johns Junior High School in Petersburg, VA created to give back to the citizens within the community.

On Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 1pm-6pm, we will have a Toy Drive & Dance-a-Thon in the school gym. With the state of the economy and the holiday season closely approaching, we have many families trying to make ends meet. All proceeds will be donated to the Department of Residence Life at Virginia State University to be dispersed to the families in Petersburg, VA (Petersburg Social Services/The James House/The Yeshua's House/CARES Shelter).

On the day of the event, a DJ will play a variety of music, the team that has raised the most toys and has the most team members on the floor dancing for the duration of the event, will win.

For team registration forms, please see Ms. Davis (REACH) at Vernon Johns or send an email to [email protected] to receive it electronically. Parents/guardians must sign the permission form in order for you to participate individually or as a group.

Vernon Johns Jr. High School's PTSA is also hosting it's Annual Indoor Yard Sale (from 9am-2pm) prior to the start of the Toy Drive & Dance-a-Thon. Shoes are being collected for a fundraiser as well, so if you or anyone you know would like to donate shoes please bring them. See flyer below...
