St Teresa of Avila, pray for us! 🙏🏻

Let us continue our prayers for the Holy Father. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Bishop Barry C. Knestout, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, shared this statement following Pope Leo XIV’s surgery to remove a lung nodule on Oct. 13, 2026, in which doctors confirmed the pope’s diagnosis of lung adenocarcinoma, a type of lung cancer.

On behalf of the Catholic Diocese of Richmond, I am saddened by the Holy Father’s cancer diagnosis, but very grateful for the successful surgery and the dedicated care of his medical team. We join with those around the world in renewing our prayers for Pope Leo’s complete and swift recovery. Heavenly Father, source of all life and healing, we ask that you strengthen Pope Leo in body, mind, and spirit, so that he may return to his ministry as shepherd of the Catholic Church.

“I will perform a miracle for all to believe.”
109th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun

Today is the 109th Anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun, the sign that the Virgin Mary promised at Cova da Iria, Fatima in Portugal so that "all should believe." Our Lady of Fatima, pray for us! 🙏🏻

The Fatima events involving three shepherd children had been a great concern that even atheists and communists had taken interest in, in order to mock the people's faith. They even came in droves on October 13, 1917, to witness for themselves the promised "miracle" from Our Lady who was appearing to the three children. Our Lady of Fatima had never let everyone down, just after her last message to the children, Lucia asked if a sign would be given. Our Lady nodded and raised her hands to the heavens. At that very moment, the sun appeared to swirl/dance in the sky and was emitting different colors. The sun seemed to plunge towards the people causing panic, then returned to its original position. Then the children saw the Holy Family appear to them after the miracle of the sun.
