American Legion Riders Post 78, Petersburg WV has established the Sheldon M. Miller II Memorial Scholarship in memory of Sheldon Miller who was killed 8/4/23. Sheldon was a 1990 graduate of Petersburg High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served in South Korea and Desert Storm. Sheldon worked for Potomac Highland Construction and was a member of the Iron Workers Union. He loved being with his family and friends and enjoyed riding motorcycles. Sheldon was an active member of the American Legion Riders for past 7 years. The scholarship is awarded to a Grant County senior graduating high school and will be attending a trade school. Post 78 ALR was able to help 5 young men this year. Some of Sheldon’s family was in attendance to see these gentlemen receive their funds. The American Legion Riders Post 78 would like to thank everyone who donated and helped make this year’s Annual Sheldon Miller Motorcycle Run a success. We are all saddened with the loss of Sheldon and want to keep his memory alive by helping more students in the future who want to further their education and careers in a trade.
Congratulations to this years 5 recipients!
