We’re honored to share that we’ve been granted a beautiful opportunity to take Petersburg students to experience GIANTS: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz & Alicia Keys at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.

This experience is about more than a museum visit, it’s about access, reflection, and seeing yourself represented in powerful contemporary Black art. Students will engage in guided conversation, storytelling, and collective viewing inside one of Virginia’s most respected cultural institutions.

CommunityCare YouthInCulture VMFA

WE MADE THIS is a vibrant celebration of creativity, collaboration, and youthful vision. These young artists spent the past few weeks exploring materials, ideas and their own perspectives. From printmaking, fiber, collage and graffiti, this exhibition showcases the dedication, curiosity, and self-expression of our young people.
They made this.

Artist Toolkit: Professional Practices is a two-day workshop designed to help emerging and mid-career artists strengthen their professional materials and confidently navigate opportunities in the art world. Through hands-on sessions and group discussion, we’ll cover essential topics including how to write and revise your artist statement, best practices for building and formatting an artist CV, and resources on how to find and apply to exhibitions and residencies. Participants will receive feedback on their statements, CVs, and portfolios as well as leave with practical tools to present themselves and their work more clearly and professionally. Open to artists of all disciplines. This event is free to the public, registration in our bio.

Wrapped up Week 1 of the Summer Youth Arts Program today! The kids learned wet and dry felting with and made these incredible wool masks.
