is a private agency offering community based support in a residential group home facility. The agency is a licensed residential facility to serve adults with mental retardation or mental illness. The program is incorporated with the State of Virginia. The individual must have a primary diagnosis of mental retardation/ mental illness. They must have significant limitations in adaptive skills in two
or more of the following areas: communication, self-functional acadmeics, leisure, and work. Unity Family Services, Inc., program is based on the values that everyone deserves and needs to belong, be loved, treated with dignity and respect, self directing, and to be recognized for their inherent value as a unique person. The overall goal of services is to promote acceptance in the normal life of the community in which the individual resides through social integration and participation in community opportunities. The program's aim is to train, teach, and prepare each adult with the knowledge and skills to help them reach their goals.
