Your Local Food Pantry at Work with Glo Morison

The Peterborough Food Pantry supports food-insecure residents in 13 local towns. We are an all-volunteer organization and are now housed in Reynold’s Hall at 52 Concord Street in Peterborough, across from All Saints’ Church. We also have an Emergency Aid program which helps pantry customers with necessary car repairs, up to $1500/year. We have seen a significant uptick in household visits to the pantry each week – up over 45% in the last year. Changes to SNAP benefits, the government shut-down last fall and higher food costs all play a part in the increase in our numbers. Glo Morison is a Peterborough resident and has been the Board President of the Peterborough Food Pantry since 2019. She will discuss what we do at the food pantry, how we “verify” customers, food insecurity in our area, and how you can best support the Peterborough Food Pantry. Come join the conversation!

You’re invited!

MATS is proud to partner with Peterborough Town Library and Peterborough Food Pantry for an evening of film and conversation.
The Line: Poverty in America is a powerful documentary that follows individuals and families living below the poverty line, offering an honest look at what that line truly means in daily life. It challenges us to rethink assumptions and consider how close many Americans are to financial instability.

After the film, stay for a panel discussion and community conversation featuring:

• Glo Morison, Director & President, Peterborough Food Pantry
• Susan Howard, Program Director, MATS
• Elizabeth Goodhue, MATS Board Member

Together, we’ll explore what the poverty line looks like not just nationally, but right here in our own community.
