We are committed to transforming these communities by reducing maternal and infant mortality and overcoming barriers to the overall health of women and children. How we work

We partner with local healthcare providers in areas of the world where few humanitarian organizations will go or stay. Global Strategies and our local partners each bring something to the table. Our experience creating effect

ive programs combined with our partners’ knowledge of the local health and political landscape creates a partnership that provides women and children with outstanding medical care. Where we work

We work in the most underserved areas of the world where mortality from complications during labor and delivery, disease and life-threatening disabilities are a daily reality. Global Strategies currently has ongoing projects in Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia, Nigeria, Uganda and India.

It was a pleasure to join Dr. Shubs Upadhyay on Global Perspectives on Digital Health to revisit the history of NoviGuide and discuss where it is headed.
At the center of the conversation is a decision we made early on. If you are trying to address a problem as large as child mortality, the tool has to be something that the busiest nurses in the world would choose to reach for on their own.
That observation shaped the approach. The goal was not just to digitize guidelines, but to ‘delight’ nurses who would be counted on to drive uptake and adoption.
How do you scale something like this without losing the connection to the clinicians who shaped it? How do you align with national guidelines across countries without creating something too complex to sustain?
We discuss these questions in the episode. We’re grateful to Shubs Upadhyay for creating space for these important conversations through this podcast.

Respiratory illnesses remain one of the leading causes of death among children in under-resourced settings - and frontline providers often lack the tools they need to make rapid, evidence-based decisions.
Global Strategies is proud to partner with ALRITE to help improve care for children facing respiratory illness.
By strengthening clinical decision-making through practical digital tools, we’re helping ensure more children receive timely, accurate treatment.
Read the full story about our ALRITE partnership here.
We’re honored to collaborate with ALRITE and excited about the impact ahead.

The application, known as ALRITE (Acute Lower Respiratory Illness Treatment and Evaluation), is designed to support health workers in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of children under five years suffering from acute respiratory conditions such as asthma and other wheezing illnesses.

We’re pleased to share an important leadership update at Global Strategies.
Dr. Elizabeth Rogers has been appointed Board Chair. An Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco and practicing neonatologist in the Intensive Care Nursery, she has dedicated her career to caring for preterm newborns and their families.
Her work focuses on guiding families through the challenges of very early birth, protecting the developing brain, and improving long-term outcomes for babies after critical illness.
“As a neonatologist, I have seen how critical timely, evidence-based decisions are for vulnerable newborns and their families,” Dr. Rogers shared. “Global Strategies translates science into practical tools that empower frontline providers.”
Colin Boyle will serve as Treasurer, and Nicole Rubin transitions from Board Chair to Secretary — reflecting the Board’s commitment to shared leadership and continuity.
We are grateful for this strong leadership team as we continue expanding access to high-quality care for mothers, newborns, and children in under-resourced settings.
