Petaluma Bounty

Petaluma Bounty Petaluma Bounty is a nonprofit working to create a healthy & sustainable food system for everyone in Petaluma, CA, and beyond! Volunteers welcome!

Our community farm is located at 55 Shasta Avenue off Petaluma Blvd. N (across from Lucky grocery store). Petaluma Bounty is a farm-based community food security project that prioritizes participatory program development and a place-based approach to strengthen our local food system. We push beyond hunger relief toward hunger prevention and community food security through programming that expands

our community's capacity to feed ourselves to achieve long-term community resilience. Through our programs, Petaluma Bounty improves the quality of food offered by emergency food distributors through the Bounty Hunters gleaning program and advocacy. We increase low-income consumers’ purchasing power through local affordable food incentives such Market Match, sliding scale farm stands and CSA memberships, as well as maximize awareness and participation in federal food programs such as WIC, SNAP, and Meals on Wheels. We increase food literacy – knowledge of how food is grown and where it comes from – for children, youth and adults. We change attitudes and appetites for healthy food and active lifestyles. We expand our community's capacity to grow its own food by supporting local community gardens and empowering others by sharing our knowledge. And finally, we are engaging our whole community to become active, informed agents of change of their food system and advocate for policies and governmental services that promote community food security now and into the future.
