Small businesses are increasingly using artificial intelligence, but knowing how to use it safely and effectively is essential.

In collaboration with Café Puente in Petaluma and Sonoma County Economic Development Collaborative, BBB recently led an introductory class on AI for small businesses. Participants learned about effective prompting, explored different AI platforms, discussed how AI can support everyday business operations, and reviewed common AI-related scams and risks.

It was also important to make this information accessible in Spanish, helping more local business owners understand and confidently navigate these rapidly evolving tools.

Helping small-business owners understand AI is an important part of building a more informed and trustworthy marketplace.
