COTS - in California

COTS - in California We exist because homelessness exists. We envision a community where everyone has a place to call home.

At COTS, our mission is to assist those experiencing homelessness to find and keep housing, increase self-sufficiency and improve well-being. We empower homeless families, veterans, and adults to rebuild their lives and find housing. More than a shelter, we are a network of thousands of volunteers, collaborative partners, and staff that work together to provide comprehensive services that end homelessness – for good.

If you're buying a new car or no longer need your current vehicle, consider donating it through our partnership with Donate For Charity. The process is simple. They arrange the pickup, handle the paperwork, and make donating your vehicle easy from start to finish.

Your vehicle donation helps support COTS and the work we do in our community. We are grateful to everyone who chooses this meaningful way to give back.

Hosting a summer BBQ, birthday party, or bake sale? Turn your celebration into an opportunity to make a difference.

Create a peer-to-peer fundraiser for COTS and invite friends and family to support people experiencing homelessness in Sonoma County. Every dollar raised helps provide housing, food, and vital support services.

Have a fundraising idea of your own? We'd love to help you bring it to life.

Fair Housing services for Petaluma residents are now being provided by COTS (Committee on the Shelterless), a trusted organization specializing in housing support across Sonoma County.

For many years, Petaluma People Services Center has been proud to support our community through Fair Housing services, promoting equal access to housing opportunities and helping prevent discrimination in housing practices. We are grateful for the support and trust we have received throughout the years.

COTS offers Fair Housing assistance to low and moderate-income residents within the City limits of Petaluma. The COTS Fair Housing program can provide tenants with assistance related to reasonable accommodations and advocacy, as well as answering general fair housing questions.

COTS also provides fair housing training for tenants, landlords, and other local organizations providing housing support to Petaluma residents. COTS does not provide legal advice or assistance related to fair housing practices.

To contact the COTS Fair Housing team, please email [email protected] or call (707) 522-7780.

Help us celebrate the incredible residents who go above and beyond at COTS!

We are collecting gift cards for our Community Service Awards, honoring residents who give back to the COTS community while working toward securing stable housing. These residents support others by serving lunch, helping around campus, and contributing in meaningful ways.

Popular gift card choices include Lucky’s, Chevron, and Target. Your donation helps us recognize and celebrate the dedication, kindness, and leadership of our community members.
