We're delighted to see the flag we gifted to the The City of Petaluma - Government now flying outside City Hall!

This is the Intersex-inclusive Progress Pride Flag, which recognizes a part of the LGBTQIA+ community — intersex people — who are too often left out of our discussions and understanding of biology and gender. They are symbolized by the purple circle over the yellow background.

We were proud to present the City of Petaluma with a quality handmade Intersex-Inclusive Progress Pride Flag to fly at City Hall, as part of our effort to spotlight the attacks on trans, gender non-conforming, and intersex people and the way that's part of a broader push to control our bodies, especially women's, and especially BIPOC women's.

We thank the City of Petaluma for its continued partnership in building a pluralistic democracy in which we all belong and are safe.

Today is the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP).

In the first few months of 2026 alone, ICT has published dozens of stories reflecting the stark, tragic, and ongoing reality of violence and abuse disproportionately impacting Native communities.

As a news organization telling stories for Indigenous communities, by Indigenous reporters, we take seriously our responsibility to shed light on this crisis, ensuring victims are treated with dignity, families are heard, policymakers see this epidemic, and the public is informed.

With estimates showing that 95 percent of MMIP cases receive little to no mainstream media coverage, our reporting brings visibility to overlooked stories and pushes for accountability and meaningful change.

This work is necessary, but it should not always be. We report on this crisis because it is happening, and we will continue because it must change. Our hope is for a future where Indigenous people are safe, justice is the norm, and these stories no longer need to be told.
