A little history lesson this Saturday: The old Lovitt-Day Mining operation on Methow St, showing the tailings placed in Squilchuck Creek. They mined about 1 million ounces of combined gold and silver in the 1950-60s. And an article by James Marr, Jr., found at the NCW Library, describing how much Asamera contributed to the community while the Cannon Mine was in operation from 1984-1994.
