The Coastside State Parks Association (CSPA) was created in December 1990 to further the education and interpretation initiatives of the California State Parks along the San Mateo Coast. CSPA was founded by volunteers in San Mateo County as a 501(c)3 non-profit Cooperating Association to provide support directly to these coastal State Parks. Help your local state parks:

Saturday is International Lighthouse Day! Come by Pigeon Point Historical Lighthouse Historical State Park to talk to other lighthouses via ham radio, activities for kids and historical tour. 12-4:30PM, Saturday. Visit the CSPA table to see what we’re up to.

Our new State Park! San Gregorio Ranch State Park is now open! Beautiful, pristine, expansive beach just north of San Gregorio State Beach, bluff views with picnic tables, staircase to beach. Birdwatching, fishing, or just relaxing.

Your 2026 CSPA Board, including President Pam Koch, Vice President Ellen Moore, Treasurer Janet Oulton, with Head Ranger Barbara Morris. Your donations have done so much for our San Mateo Coast State Parks! We gave $1,000,000 to Parks in 2025 and $500,000 so far in 2026! Your support makes a difference.

Beachgoers along the San Mateo County coast will soon enjoy expanded access at San Gregorio State Beach following the recent acquisition by Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) of 238-acre San Gregorio Ranch, which sits at Highway 1 and Highway 84. While POST plans to donate this $10-million property to California State Parks (State Parks) later this year, visitors will be able to access the property as an extension of the state beach beginning July 29.

Burleigh Murray State Park is truly a Half Moon Bay hidden gem. A one mile walk reveals the historic barn built along and curving with the hillside is one of two known examples of an English bank barn in California. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989, one-hundred years after its construction. This secluded, sheltered spot is worth a visit!
