Graeme and I met Euster in November of 2024. She has a difficult situation. Her husband left. She is sick and had a toddler with a heart condition. She also has two older children. Euster was coming to Beacon every day asking if there was a sponsor so that her daughter could go to school.

Since that time, we found sponsors for her oldest and her youngest who are now both enrolled at Beacon Academy. Euster has also be sponsored to enroll at Beacon Technical Training Institute and is learning culinary skills.

This picture was taken in May when I went back. Euster looks like a completely new person. She is hopeful, talkative, engaged. She is so thankful for the help she has gotten. Now she is working hard to gain skills so that she can provide for her children independently.

Now her third child is sponsored so all four of them go to Beacon each day. Praise God.

Child #7: Meet Everlyn 💙

Everlyn is a bright and resilient 9-year-old girl in Grade 3 who faces challenges far beyond her years.

She lives with her mother, two siblings, and her sickly grandmother. Everlyn’s mother works hard to care for her family and keep her children in school, but there are times when difficult choices must be made — sometimes sacrificing essentials like food or school supplies in order to afford healthcare.

Through sponsorship, Everlyn can receive the support she needs to continue her education at Beacon Academy, including school uniforms, two meals each day, and other basic needs that help her grow and pursue her dreams.

Child #6: Meet Trevor 💙

Trevor is a bright and hopeful Grade 4 student with a smile that reflects his determination to learn and build a better future.

Trevor is the oldest of three children being raised by his mother, Sarah. She works hard through casual jobs to provide for her family, but her income is very limited and often does not cover even their most basic needs.

Right now, Trevor’s family is often surviving on just one meal a day. Their living conditions are extremely modest, and the daily challenges of poverty make it difficult for Trevor to focus on school and the dreams he carries for his future.

Aisha is a bright and determined Grade 1 student who loves learning and dreams of a better future. She lives with her younger sibling and their mother, who works hard to provide for their family through casual work.

But when income is uncertain, even basic needs become a daily challenge. At times, Aisha has been sent home from school because fees were unpaid. Her mother does everything she can to care for her children, including working hard to make sure they have at least one meal each day.
