Vermont Adaptive will have a tent in the vendor village from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. with information about adaptive mountain biking, other summer/fall programs and answer any questions about the Bart/Vermont Adaptive merger and upcoming winter season.

This event is open to anyone with a disability however pre-registration is required if you’d like to participate. Or, just stop by the lake, hang out at the Vermont Adaptive tent, meet folks, and learn more about programs.

Next Thursday, Aug. 21, Vermont Adaptive will host its first "Meet & Greet" on Zoom from noon-1 p.m.. Felicia, Sarah and Kim will be on hand to share updates and answer questions about volunteering, programs and more.

Volunteer Application Now Online - Sign Up Today & Get Ready for Winter 2025-2026!

Vermont Adaptive succeeds because of the dedication of more than 400 highly-trained volunteer instructors. And now with the addition of the fabulous Bart Adaptive volunteers, we'll be able to provide even more lessons and outings than ever before - bringing our total volunteer instructor count to about 700 folks annually!

Thank YOU to all volunteers who dedicate their time, talent and passion for the outdoors with others. We are grateful for what you do.

Each year, new and returning volunteer instructors are required to complete an annual volunteer application. Come volunteer for one, many or tons of days – no day requirement! Want to volunteer off-snow at an event? Be sure to fill out the application for those opportunities, too.

Dear Friends of the Bart Adaptive Community,

On behalf of everyone at Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports, I want to extend the warmest welcome as we officially come together as one organization.

As of July 31, 2025, Bart Adaptive Sports Center has become The Bart Center at Vermont Adaptive. While the name may be somewhat new, what makes the Bart community special remains unchanged—your spirit, your commitment, your deep connection to the outdoors, and the desire to ensure that everyBODY has the opportunity to access great recreational experiences and adventures.

Our shared mission to provide inclusive sports and recreation opportunities for people with disabilities is stronger than ever. This merger ensures that programs at Bromley Mountain, Stratton Mountain Resort and in the greater Manchester community not only continue, but thrive—with expanded access to equipment, locations and year-round opportunities across Vermont.

You’ll still see the same dedicated community of volunteers and athletes and some new faces as well. What’s new is the support of a statewide organization committed to honoring the legacy of Bart J. Ruggiere while building new connections, programs and possibilities together.

We're excited to announce that Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports and the Bart Adaptive Sports Center have announced their intent to merge — expanding access to adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities in Southern Vermont! This merger will preserve the incredible legacy of Bart Adaptive, while bringing more resources, programs, and equipment to the community. Together, we’re building a stronger, more inclusive future where everyBODY can play, explore and thrive outdoors. Programming, volunteering, and participation will continue without interruption. The merger is
