Supporting the ministry of the Redemptorists through fund-raising activities and publicity is the Alphonsian Foundation. The Foundation was established in 1997 as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, not-for-profit organization to develop financial support for the Redemptorists through charitable organizations and private individuals. Over the past years, the Redemptorists Congregation has been blessed with do
nations from many throughout the world who have especially chosen to share the financial burdens of the Alphonsian Academy. In part, these very special members of the Alphonsian family help with expenses incurred “behind the scenes” at the Academy - keeping the lights on and the facilities alive. They also make possible scholarships for students who would otherwise not be able to attend the Academy due to financial limitations. Redemptorist benefactors have selflessly accepted a large part of the financial responsibility of providing Academy students and professors with books, journals and educational subscriptions. Grant money received from charitable organizations contacted by the Alphonsian Foundation has enabled the Alphonsian Academy to remodel classrooms, expand the library and make repairs to our building. Grants have also provided the Academy with a replacement vehicle, classroom furniture, computers and wiring, etc. The Alphonsian Foundation also assists the Alphonsian Academy by publishing and distributing The Academy - newsletter of the Alphonsian Academy, which is sent to friends, potential benefactors and alumni all over the world, keeping them up-to-date on activities and events. With the help of many people, the Alphonsian Foundation hopes to continue the work begun long ago by Saint Alphonsus Liguori - to Teach the Teachers.
