The Perth Amboy Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating Marcus L. Richardson, who has been reported missing and endangered.

Richardson is described as a 43-year-old Black male, light complexion, approximately 6’2” tall, 180 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.

He was last seen in the area of 530 New Brunswick Avenue wearing a gray sweater, white shirt, and blue jeans.

Anyone who has seen him or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Perth Amboy Police Department immediately or call 911.

🎡 WOODBRIDGE CARNIVAL CANCELED BEFORE THE WEEKEND

The carnival planned for Woodbridge Center Mall this weekend, May 29–31, has been canceled.

According to Woodbridge Center, the cancellation was made by the carnival operator. No public reason has been given.

That matters, because this is the same mall where last year’s carnival made headlines after police said more than 500 juveniles showed up for a social-media-promoted pop-up gathering. That night ended with fights, the carnival shutting down early, police from surrounding towns responding, and crowds moving into the mall.

To be clear: officials have not said this year’s cancellation is connected to what happened last year. But when a carnival disappears from the weekend schedule with no reason given, after last year’s chaos at the same location, people are going to ask questions.

For now, the fact is simple: no carnival this weekend at Woodbridge Center Mall.

⚠️Fatal Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Perth Amboy Man

A Perth Amboy man was killed Tuesday night following a serious motorcycle crash on W. Edgar Road.

Officers responded around 11:40 p.m. after reports of a crash involving motorcycles. According to initial reports, two motorcycles, a 2009 Suzuki and a 2009 Kawasaki, were traveling north on W. Edgar Road when they collided.

The impact reportedly forced the Suzuki into opposing traffic, where it struck a 2025 Mazda CX-5 traveling southbound.

One of the motorcyclists, a 32-year-old man from Perth Amboy, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second motorcyclist and the driver of the Mazda were transported to Newark University Medical Center with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Our condolences go out to the family and loved ones affected by this tragedy.

”$100K in Hidden Cash Seized as NJ Spa Prostitution Network Falls in Multi-County Sting”

Sayreville police say a months long investigation led to the arrest of a Jackson woman accused of running unlicensed spas as fronts for prostitution across Middlesex, Monmouth, and Ocean counties.

Authorities say Kelly Jahnke Gonzalez, 44, was arrested at her Jackson home on May 12 after search warrants were executed at multiple businesses, corporate offices, and her residence.

Police say investigators found more than $100,000 in hidden cash, froze several bank accounts, and recovered additional evidence.

Jahnke Gonzalez is facing charges including promoting prostitution, maintaining a nuisance, money laundering, and misconduct by a corporate official.

The investigation involved multiple agencies, including county prosecutors, local police departments, the New Jersey Treasury Criminal Investigative Unit, NCIS, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Authorities say the case remains active and more charges or arrests may be coming.

Jahnke Gonzalez is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

Former Woodbridge Township Police Officer Gets No Prison Time in NJ Child Sexual Abuse Case

Ryan Patrick Alcott, a former Woodbridge Township police officer, resigned from the force after admitting to sexually abusing his younger female cousin for nearly a decade. Alcott, 29, of the Sewaren section of Woodbridge, had served as an auxiliary officer for five years before being sworn in as a full time officer in 2022.

The abuse began in 2008 when the victim was just eight years old and continued for eight years, occurring both in Woodbridge, New Jersey, and at the family’s lake house in Lakeville, Pennsylvania. The victim first tried to seek accountability within the family in 2021 but was met with deflection. She eventually reported the abuse to Woodbridge Police in September 2024.

Criminal cases were pursued in both states. In New Jersey, despite serious initial charges, Alcott pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of third degree endangering the welfare of a child and received five years of probation with no prison time, a sentence that sparked widespread public outrage.

In Pennsylvania, he pleaded guilty to aggravated indecent assault of a child and was sentenced to six months to one year in prison.

Alcott has since resigned from the police department and is permanently barred from future law enforcement employment.

Fraud should be investigated.

But power should always be questioned.

Trump just signed an executive order called “Restoring Integrity to America’s Financial System.”

It directs federal agencies to take a harder look at how banks and lenders handle fraud, shell companies, unregistered money services, ITIN-related risks, and certain credit decisions.

Some people will cheer that. Fraud is real, financial abuse is real, and a lot of it goes unchecked.

But here’s the other side of it. Policies like this can hit immigrant communities, small business owners, and people with limited banking access the hardest. Not because they’re doing anything wrong. Just because they don’t fit a clean profile.

That’s worth paying attention to.

This isn’t a left or right thing. It’s a fairness thing.

When the government and big financial institutions start deciding who’s “safe” and who’s “risky,” somebody needs to be asking how those calls are being made. Who’s making them. And who keeps getting flagged.

Because those decisions don’t affect everyone equally. They never do.

Stay informed. Ask your own questions.

Eso vale la pena tenerlo en cuenta.

Esto no es un asunto de izquierda o derecha. Es un asunto de justicia.

Cuando el gobierno y las grandes instituciones financieras empiezan a decidir quién es “seguro” y quién es “riesgoso,” alguien tiene que preguntar cómo se están tomando esas decisiones. Quién las toma. Y quién sigue siendo señalado.

Porque esas decisiones no afectan a todos por igual. Nunca lo hacen.
