Had the pleasure and excitement of going on an awesome hunt this morning with our candidate, Nate, and watching him tag this big alligator. It was a great morning along with Nate’s buddy Ryan, Laura Beckmann and BJ Robert.

What an amazing experience it was to helped the Jared Burke Foundation make Brandon’s dream of harvesting an Ontario black bear a reality!
This hunt hit close to home for both Jamie and myself. We are incredibly grateful that the foundation trusted Horwood Lake Lodge to help make this special opportunity happen.
Brandon faces challenges every day, and our goal was to ensure he had the best chance possible at a successful hunt. We located several big bears on different bait sites, but the real challenge was building ground blinds out of brush that could accommodate both Brandon and his track chair. Accessibility was key. After five days of hard work, patience, and even moving to a new location, everything came together. With only 7 minutes remaining before the end of legal shooting time, Brandon harvested a beautiful big boar just 10 feet from the blind!
A huge congratulations to Brandon on an unforgettable hunt. Special thanks to BJ and Trevor for lending a hand getting the bear out of the bush and loading into the trailer for the trip back to the lodge. Moments like these remind us that hunting is about so much more than harvesting an animal—it’s about making memories, overcoming obstacles, and helping dreams come true. 📹 Lisa Tadgell Lisa Tadgell Horwood Lake Lodge | Northern Ontario Horwood Lake Lodge Trevor Hayden Trevor Hayden Brad BJ Robert Brandon Huber Team Tadgell
