Small improvements are being made when possible. Thankfully the Renaud Carpentry & Contracting LLC crew came out & made the front porch awning sturdy again. It was hanging on by God's grace, rotten wood, & some straw.

On March 16, 1876, Clinton C. Erwin and his wife, Asanath, deeded approximately one acre of land in the northwestern part of St. Mary's Township to William Basinger, James Hudson, Joshua Hudson, Calvin A. Mann, George McNew, Edward Pellerin, and James Tucker, trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church for the sum of $1, to be used for a place of worship.

In March 1879, Erwin and his wife deeded two more acres to the trustees to be used as a graveyard, free to all parties, for $40.

The original church was torn down to make way for the present building, which was dedicated on December 27, 1925. Those who labored on the new church included members Henry Huber, Clarence Hudson, Walker Kennon, Rush McNew, and Douglas Nelson.

The last regular service in the church was held in 1973.
