Tomorrow will be a Flag Retirement Ceremony at the pavilion at VFW #8586. All are invited to see the correct way to dispose an American Flag! If you have old tattered flags, bring them along! The Ceremony starts at 1 pm.

District 10, Veterans of Foreign Wars will be conducting a memorial service at the Shrine this Sunday, May 28, at 4PM. The VFW has been holding a service here for approximately 50 years on Memorial Day weekend, and the American Legion holds a ceremony for the Gold Star Mothers every September.

In 1945 the end of the World War II was in sight, and forward-looking folks were pondering the massive task before them of coming to terms with the tremendous burden
