Camping season is officially underway at Toledo Mountain Mentors!
Our first wilderness adventure of the summer is in the books, with an incredible trip to Pictured Rocks, Michigan. Way to go, boys!
As we prepare for our upcoming wilderness expeditions in New Hampshire, our students have been learning the fundamentals of backpacking, tent setup, and outdoor living skills. This year, we were excited to partner with The Program Inc. for a morning filled with hands-on learning, teamwork, and a little healthy competition.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible!
Every skill learned, every trail hiked, and every challenge overcome is another step toward building confident, purpose-driven young students.

We are heartbroken by the violence that took place at the Old West End Festival last night. A place known for bringing people together through community, culture, and celebration should never be marked by tragedy. Our prayers are with those who were injured, their families, first responders, and everyone impacted by this devastating event.

Moments like these remind us why mentorship matters.

We believe lasting change happens through relationships. We may not be able to solve every challenge our community faces overnight, but each of us has the opportunity to invest in someone else, to listen, to encourage, to guide, and to show up consistently.

Our community needs more mentors. It needs more people willing to build meaningful relationships and invest in the next generation. Strong communities are built one person, one family, and one relationship at a time.

This is our community. We love it, we believe in it, and we aren't going anywhere.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
The values we live out at Mountain Mentors through CLIMB — courage, leadership, initiative, motivation, and belief — are reflected every day in the lives of service members around the world. Today, we remember their sacrifice and express our deep gratitude for those who have served and continue to serve our country. 🇺🇸

What an incredible week at Camp Mills! Our first official mission trip team from CedarCreek Church just wrapped up an amazing week preparing camp for the students who will be stepping into Wilderness Expeditions this summer.
From gear maintenance and sealing shelters to climbing mountains and praying over our teams, this group showed up in a huge way. More than just getting work done, they got a firsthand look at why this program changes lives through community, challenge, and the outdoors.
We’re only a few weeks away from the start of Wilderness Expeditions, and we can’t wait to see what this season holds.

A very full weekend for the TMM team! Two great acts of service from the crew are underway to help serve the community in big ways.
First, our students and mentors got to spend some time with ToledoGROWS. We worked with their team to help do some planting and field prepping to serve community gardens all across the city of Toledo!
Then, on Sunday, our work trip crew gathered up to head out to Basecamp to prepare for the students this summer! The individuals are making a difference to make sure the space is ready to host our students and raising funds to help support their future adventures!

Our team braved the rainy weather for a morning of hiking through the beautiful Oak Openings region, spent time learning the fundamentals of backpacking, and continued growing in our understanding of the local area as we prepare for our upcoming out-of-state trips.
