Hello from Mona, The Pastor’s Wife.
We had our 5th week of Ladies Breakfasts and Bible study at Chick-fil-A . We learned the following names of Jesus: Eternal Life, Everlasting Father, Faithful and True, First and Last, Forerunner, Glory of the Lord, and GOD. We are enjoying our Bible Study. There are women who would love to be with us, but due to work and appointments, it’s difficult for them to make these Bible Studies. We know where their hearts are.
Today as we were doing our Bible Study, a retired minister who I mentioned before came up to us and let us know he was preparing for a funeral for a 94 year old gentleman . He went on to say the gentleman was a Christian and loved the lord. I could tell from personal experience he was a little troubled. After our Bible Study, when all the ladies left, I was gathering my things together. He was leaving and a lady stopped him. As I said earlier, I felt he was a little troubled. As he came closer to the table I was sitting at, I asked him if I could pray for him. He had tears in his eyes and took off his hat. I just prayed a simple prayer. Afterwards, he gave me a hug and said, thank you, I really needed that. He went on to tell me that the gentleman he was doing the funeral for was a Christian, but his family wasn’t. He had decided to preach Jesus and Praise God. He also told me he was a little troubled only because he wanted to say the right words to those attending who were lost.
I feel sometimes God may show us ways to encourage others and pray for them. This was one of those moments. After the prayer, the Lady he was talking to asked me, how do you know him. I said just from meeting here for Bible Study with our ladies. She asked about the Bible Study, and what Church we were from. It gave me the opportunity to share with her. She is a Sunday school teacher for a women’s class and is teaching on Romans 2. She gave me her testimony about turning old and felt there was not much she could do. She wrote a little Red book that has been used and passed around to many countries. She told me that there have now been thousands that have read her little red book. She was an encouragement to me. I had to take time to tell her about my mother with Alzheimers who would sing anywhere she went, and was able to touch many people through singing.
I feel God is Good and I felt so Blessed today. We never know what may be going on in other peoples lives and we never know who may be watching us. We need to show people the way to Jesus, and we also need to encourage other Christians.
