What an awesome class to take!

Students at Perry High School are exploring the world of Forensic Science through a new course taught by Julie Milligan!

Participants are putting their skills to work by examining evidence, analyzing clues and participating in mock crime scenes. Along the way, they’re discovering how science, critical thinking and problem-solving come together to investigate real-world questions. 🔍

Congratulations to PHS Softball Coach Bryan Hayes on earning his 700th career win as the Lady Maroons defeated Chisholm tonight!

We are so proud to celebrate this incredible milestone with Coach Hayes and the Lady Maroons!

Chris Lori Stoops Cannida, PHS Class of 1976, is one of five accomplished alumni to be inducted into the PHSAA Honor Roll Sept. 19 at the annual banquet. As a teacher, Chris served on the first state curriculum-writing team for students with behavioral challenges. She later became a psychotherapist, opened a private practice, and worked for a Defense Department program serving military units during the Afghanistan and Iraq wars. She continues to work as a psychotherapist in private practice specializing in trauma recovery and providing training for fellow therapists.

On Sept. 18, the PHSAA will honor Blaine School, which educated Black students until 1955 when it was closed. Despite segregation, Blaine became a Model School in 1924 under Principal W. L. Gilmore. It had a winning girls basketball team that claimed the 1955 state championship. PHSAA welcomes the community of Blaine descendants and friends to the Honor Roll dinner to receive the Legacy Award.

Shea Padilla Boschee, PHS Class of 1986, is one of five accomplished alumni to be inducted into the PHSAA Honor Roll Sept. 19 at the annual banquet. See the Honor Roll Celebration tab at PerryOkAlumni.com for tickets or get tickets at Kumback Lunch. After earning a degree from Oklahoma State University, Shea launched a YMCA career that has spanned more than three decades, including executive leadership roles in Tulsa, Dallas, and Fort Worth. Today, Shea works with YMCA of the USA as Director of Executive Leadership/CEO Search, partnering with YMCA boards nationwide to identify, recruit, and support chief executive officers. Shea continues to invest in Perry through service on the Perry City Council, as a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Perry, and as a former member of the Main Street of Perry Board of Directors. In 2025, Shea and spouse Scott purchased the historic Kumback Cafe to help preserve a beloved local landmark for future generations.

FIVE DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI TO JOIN PHS HONOR ROLL; SCHOOL TO RECEIVE LEGACY AWARD

Five accomplished graduates of Perry High School will be inducted into the Alumni Honor Roll of the PHS Alumni Association on Friday, Sept. 18, at its annual banquet at the FB&T Event Center.

The honorees and their graduation years are John Severe, 1970; Dr. David Martin, 1971; Floyd Kirk, 1973; Lori Chris Stoops Cannida, 1976; and Shea Padilla Boschee, 1986. Severe is being honored posthumously.

Blaine School, the Perry school that educated African-American students for about 50 years until schools were integrated nationwide, will be presented with the Legacy Award and will be represented by graduates including Earnestine Williams.
