A non-profit "Loving them back to life." Home of the Donkey Dave story time. 🤎

I heard a pony nicker and I looked from my office window. I saw the Donkey Daughters taking the gentle Samwise for a walk. A carefree chicken trailing behind them as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

They paused under the branches of an old apple tree. It was the perfect storybook moment, and I took in a deep breath, savoring the sweetness of life, grateful for the simple beauty that surrounds me. 🤎

Tiny is our voting ambassador this week.

He is here to remind you all to use your free vote. Each vote brings us closer to the top ten which would provide a $1500 grant for the equine this round!

The grant round ends Sept 30. This morning we were only 760 votes away from making that tenth spot!!!

Voting is FREE and truly makes a big difference each week! Tiny says he believes you can make this happen and thank you so much! 🤎

It's fall and that means it is back to school for Rue! She had a wonderful summer break and came back ready to learn.

She has graciously allowed us to settle that wild mustang spirit inside her. She is leading so gently and walks calmly in the trails now. Still very alert and protective, she is always listening for her Mother's hoof steps behind her.

I remember what a spirited handful she was on her first walk here, I had never seen such a fight against wearing a halter! Lol! She tested everything and everyone around her but we loved that fighting spirit. We assured her in time it was going to be safe and fun. We could walk together side by side, without her losing that beautiful spirit of hers.

Rue's confidence and natural born leadership will make her a wonderful herd protector here one day. She already is as a foal! It will be wonderful watching what she will become as she grows. She is getting as tall as Mama Meadow already.

She loves all the mares, but tends to reject all the boys at this age, except Bruno, she tolerates him. They are good neighbors.

She is highly intelligent and doing such a great job learning in school, we might have to move her up to the gifted and talented classes to give her a challenge! 🍂

Sanctuary Sunday: A Call for Compassion

Meet Jack Frost, our gentle Belgian Draft horse, basking in the chill of a beautiful fall morning alongside his best friend, Storm.

As the leaves turn and the air cools, we are reminded of the approaching winter. A time when our beloved draft horses need extra care and support.

Jack, with his kind heart and gentle spirit, depends on the generosity of compassionate souls like you. He came to us when he was just a few months old in the middle of a frosty January. He was named Jack Frost! He grew into a lovely companion and was adopted out when times were hard, but he came back to us once again last fall. It was a blessing to us, and we would love it if he never had to leave again. He just needs sponsors that can help feed him.

It is imperative that we secure not just one, but multiple sponsors for Jack before winter sets in.

Currently Jack is 0% sponsored. His monthly hay needs are $450 a month. This young boy can eat, and he needs someone that can help secure his spot in sanctuary.

Your support will literally change Jack's future, ensuring he has the security of a stable home.

Can anyone answer the call in giving Jack a meal he can count on this winter so he can stay in sanctuary with the dear friends and family he has come to love.

For $15 a month you can sponsor his hay for the day. That means if just 30 people from around the world commit to $15 a month, he will have a life changing opportunity to never leave his home again. Even a small 6 month commitment would sustain him through the winter. 🍁

If you sign up for Jack today, please let us know! Thank you so much for your consideration. ❤️
