Sanctuary Sunday: A Call for Compassion

Meet Jack Frost, our gentle Belgian Draft horse, basking in the chill of a beautiful fall morning alongside his best friend, Storm.

As the leaves turn and the air cools, we are reminded of the approaching winter. A time when our beloved draft horses need extra care and support.

Jack, with his kind heart and gentle spirit, depends on the generosity of compassionate souls like you. He came to us when he was just a few months old in the middle of a frosty January. He was named Jack Frost! He grew into a lovely companion and was adopted out when times were hard, but he came back to us once again last fall. It was a blessing to us, and we would love it if he never had to leave again. He just needs sponsors that can help feed him.

It is imperative that we secure not just one, but multiple sponsors for Jack before winter sets in.

Currently Jack is 0% sponsored. His monthly hay needs are $450 a month. This young boy can eat, and he needs someone that can help secure his spot in sanctuary.

Your support will literally change Jack's future, ensuring he has the security of a stable home.

Can anyone answer the call in giving Jack a meal he can count on this winter so he can stay in sanctuary with the dear friends and family he has come to love.

For $15 a month you can sponsor his hay for the day. That means if just 30 people from around the world commit to $15 a month, he will have a life changing opportunity to never leave his home again. Even a small 6 month commitment would sustain him through the winter. 🍁

Donkey Dave contacted the Vet for an update about the referrel, and they said they did put that call in. We are now just waiting on a call from the surgery specialist to get an appointment for Cedar. Sweet Grace is keeping him company while we wait. 🤎

Update on Cedar's surgery. It couldn't be done today, it is much deeper in the cartilage than he thought. Cedar will have to be referred to a hospital.

Donkey Dave is feeling hopeful this morning and we are just ready and waiting once again. He shared some video of Cedar to show you what we see on a daily basis. The sensitively of such a simple action as eating. The heaviness in his eyes. It hurts us to see this, and you begin to worry everyday that passes Cedar by.

It's why we keep fighting and going through this for an appointment because we love him so much. If the Vet does arrive today, I will let you know in a comment here below so we can raise the roof with prayers over Cedar.

Thank you for being with us and supporting us through every single human emotion this week.
