We are a 501(c)3 non-profit working in conjunction with animal service agencies providing emergency transitional shelter housing for injured, abused, elderly and unwanted animals that deserve a better life.

Puddin update 💙

Sweet Puddin,

Who is now Milo is living his best life in his new forever home.

He has a new friend Kida who we were told didn’t really play with other dogs or toys.

As we all know, Milo doesn’t really go for that. He will pick up a toy and put it in your face until you play.

He has always been the sweetest soul, from the day we took him off the euth list, skinny and a face with scars from someone tying his nose & mouth shut with wire.😢

Those days are behind him now.
His new human says he is the missing piece of the puzzle for their family. 🤗

We here at the Sanctuary could not be any happier.🙏💙

🎈🎉Adoption Announcement 🎉🎈

We here at the Sanctuary are so excited to announce that sweet Puddin has his very own humans and a forever home to call his own.

Those of you who remember Puddin now (Milo) is the 10 month old Red Doberman pup that we pulled off the euthanasia list on his last day, that had his nose tied shut with wire 😢

He is such a sweet soul who was originally adopted and returned within a week for jumping up on his new owners 80 year old mom.

We gladly welcomed him back because any animal we adopt out is able to be returned no questions asked.

We worked with him and gave him as much love as we could, but honestly didn’t think he would get another chance after being here for a year.

Thankfully an amazing couple, both police officers from out of town are his new pawrents 🐾

One was doing training in San Bernadino and knew about us through a friend.

They have a 2 yr old fur baby, Kida that really needed a friend, she came to visit and immediately fell in love with Puddin.

By weeks end she was heading home and bringing their new friend with her.

Update:
They are getting along great and Puddin (Milo’s) new parents couldn’t be more happy! 🎉🙏❤️🐕🫶💙🤗🐾

🚨 What to Do if Your Dog Is Choking 🚨

Choking is a life-threatening emergency. Stay calm, act quickly and contact your emergency vet immediately.

Step 1: Check the mouth
Carefully open your dog’s mouth and look for an obvious obstruction.
A frightened dog may panic and bite, so protect yourself.
If you can clearly see and safely reach the object, carefully remove it using tweezers or pliers.
Never push your fingers blindly into the throat—you could force the object farther down.

Step 2: Use gravity
If the object remains:
For a small dog, carefully support them by the hips with their head pointing downwards.
For a larger dog, lift their back legs into a wheelbarrow position while keeping their head lowered.
Give five firm blows between the shoulder blades using the flat of your hand.

Step 3: Perform abdominal thrusts
If your dog is still choking:
Stand behind them and place your hands around their abdomen, just behind the rib cage.
Make a fist, cover it with your other hand and give five quick thrusts inwards and upwards.
If your dog is lying down, support their back with one hand while pushing the abdomen upwards and forwards with the other.
Check the mouth again and repeat if necessary.

Step 4: Seek emergency veterinary care
Even if the object comes out and your dog appears fine, take them to a vet immediately. Choking can cause damage, swelling or fluid in the lungs.
If your dog becomes unconscious and stops breathing, begin canine CPR if you know how while someone contacts the emergency vet.

These 2 sweeties got new fly masks today.

Liam & Stormy are pretty hard on their masks.

With all the rubbing against the fence and trees it was time for new ones.

We also wanted to make sure we didn’t lose them so we got ones that glow in the dark 🤣🤗💚🧡🫏

Safety Guidelines for Pets
* Ventilation: Always burn incense in a well-ventilated room and never in a closed space with animals.
* The Right of Exit: Ensure your pet can freely leave the room if the scent is too strong for their sensitive respiratory systems.
* Placement: Keep burning sticks high up and entirely out of reach of paws, tails, and curious noses.
* Avoid Synthetics: Steer clear of cheap synthetic fragrance oils and heavy smoke bamboo-core sticks, which trigger respiratory issues.

Safe vs. Unsafe Scents
* Safe (Natural & Mild): Chamomile, rosemary, ginger, and pure frankincense.
* Toxic or Irritating to Avoid: Tea tree, eucalyptus, pine, cinnamon, peppermint, and citrus oils.
* Synthetic Dips: Avoid cheap, synthetic perfume-dipped sticks or charcoal with potassium nitrate.

Safe incense for dogs includes 100% pure, natural, and additive-free botanical options like chamomile, rosemary, and frankincense. Because dogs have an intense sense of smell and sensitive airways, you must avoid synthetic fragrances, chemical accelerants, and toxic oils like tea tree, eucalyptus, and citrus.
