New Display Alert: This is a sneak peak of our almost 10ft tall eagle feather sculpture that is being installed in the education center! This sculpture features a bead-able quill so you can put your beading skills to the test!

Summer Soar tickets are now online at eagles.iowanation.org/summersoar. Please remember no tickets will be sold at the door and once the tickets are sold out they are gone! Summer Soar will be June 13th 9:30-12:00 and will feature activities around the aviary, self guided eagle tours, and a raptor show from 11:00-12:00!

Be one of the first people to meet Tat'anwe (tornado) our new golden eagle at Summer Soar! The GSEH team members that picked him up had to watch out for several tornado warnings throughout their drive when he was picked up from South Dakota! You can find Tat'anwe in our ambassador caging as we hope that he will be our next golden eagle ambassador!

This year has already been exceptionally busy, with our intake numbers nearly reaching the annual average and it’s only May! With that, we are just one eagle intake away from having 200 eagles that have entered our facility through either the long-term care program or the rehabilitation program since opening 20 years ago. 😲
We are optimistic that some of these individuals will get to go back into the wild later this year.

Summer Soar Update: Tickets will drop June 1st! at noon. Tickets will be limited to ensure the auditorium is not overcrowded for the bird show. Last year all of the tickets sold out so don't forget to set your reminder!

This year the event will be 9:30-12:00 to beat the heat. Keep an eye out for more updates next week!

Dragon the Golden Eagle is enjoying a deer antler as her enrichment today! Enrichment helps these raptors engage in behaviors that they would be doing naturally in the wild such as cleaning their beaks!
