Buck's legacy of bridging cultures and changing lives through humanitarian work, intercultural and educational programs, and preservation of the Pearl S. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in Literature for her novel, The Good Earth, and the Nobel Prize in Literature for her body of work. Buck used the spotlight on her to shine a light on the plight of marginalized people everywhere and to advocat

e for the civil rights movement in the U.S. She also founded Welcome House (the world’s first international biracial adoption agency) and established The Pearl S. Buck Foundation (now Pearl S. Buck International) to provide international humanitarian aid. Buck’s groundbreaking words and work paved the way for greater international and intercultural understanding. Our America 250 event "Raise a Glass: Brewing, Beer, and the Road to Revolution" is this weekend! Pearl S. Buck International invites you to join us June 13 from 6-9 pm and discover how beer helped shape colonial America and the path to independence with Biochemist, beer enthusiast, and history buff Dr. Jessica Zinskie and a period beer tasting from Aristaeus Craft Brewery, voted Bucks County's Best Brewery four years in a row.

On June 8 our new exhibit "Pieced Together: American Quilts Across Generations" will open in the Pearl S. Buck House. Explore American quilting traditions from the Civil War era to the present. This exhibit throughout the rooms of our museum will feature a remarkable range of quilts, from early utilitarian quilts reflective of 19th-century life to contemporary art quilts, including pieces that have won awards in regional and national quilt shows.
